I disagree, i have not read any storys about engine's blowing at high rpms. Seems most break at idle, or easy driving.
We will see what happens:driver:
I recommend driving 60-65. Fuel mileage will not be that much worse. Nothing will break in the engine doing it.
Its safer to go with the flow of traffic, then being a disruption. At least that is how i feel when driving.
Pull your oil filler neck. Look inside with a flashlight. You can see 3 bolts holding the IP gear on.
Observe the location, and then turn the engine over, see if it changes.
Only 2 bolts to do,
I would go with pyro,
It would be nice to have when towing, and you could use it to drive for good fuel mileage as well.
But it must be nice with all those temp guages. What oil temps are you seeing?
:cookoo:
Dont do it! I just know in a few years, i will have to build a m1031 because everyone who had one took the box off!
They have to be the most useful truck in the series. Pure money maker, a traveling generator and compressor, with a 101 behind it. The things i could recover from the...
Looks like i am OUT for this weekend:-(, the 500 miles of driving is a lot!
I will put my time towards making money instead, but i think its time i make a money stash for rallies.
Have a great time everyone
Is there going to be any off roading at this rally? Or is it more of a show?
Any one from ma or nh attending? Be nice to follow/convoy with someone:driver:
Mine is accurate
E takes 17 gallons to fill up, i usually do it when it just starts to touch e,
I pushed it for longer once, and it took 19 gallons, but its not worth running out of fuel. Bleeding the ip would suck on the side of the road
I looked a long time ago for this thread with the wum wum wum noise..
Long story short, mine had the same noise and it disappeared with the new harmonic balancer.
Keep up the good work[thumbzup]
I ran it for 4 or so tanks of over 50% wmo, even up to 100% Wmo. it was thinned with gas first, and filtered through 4 times.
Then i took it apart to do overhaul and found all my injectors looking like yours.
My camera is missing, but your pics are a match.
I am going to try running 50/50...
Had it apart for over a week.
Took everything bolted to the block off:shock:
Installed new Cloyes timing chain, Atp harmonic balancer. Sealed that up and did A RP head studs with fel-pro gaskets (Bought engine seal kit for 60! Would use Victor Reinz if i go in again). Installed new Bosch india...
The M1009 is a 1984 K5 Blazer with a 1 Ton J code 6.2L instead of the normal C code 6.2L diesel and a TH400 3 speed automatic instead of the TH700R4. These modifications were done at the miiltary's request to make all engine/transmission components the same between the 1008 and 1009 trucks...
