I hope you know the forum rules......... when you receive assistance of this nature, you must give every member who participated at least one ride in the finished vehicle. (you probably owe Bruce half a dozen!).

Calling all out of work SS members

Just wondering how y'all are modifying lifestyles. I am self-employed and therefore layoff proof; however, no customers mean no income even for business owners. I am taking this opportunity to trim the corners: planting a garden and teaching the kids to work it; digging a root cellar and...

Certainly don't know your plans, but you could buy a really nice deuce or 5 ton and, if you can do fab. work, etc., make one heck of an expedition vehicle for the price of a HEMMT with money left over for spare parts and spam.

M250 Cannon Carrier * Needs Rescued

So if I want to buy something from you, go ahead and accept my price.....otherwise, I still going to get it.....just for scrap value later :twisted:

M250 Cannon Carrier * Needs Rescued

I think it is more of the reasoning that some people don't want to "get taken"..... meaning they did not get every penny of value out of an item. If you buy it and restore it and make money, then they got taken. However, if it sold for scrap then they are getting market price of the scrap...

    Ever built a "shorty" deuce?

Make sure I have this straight: "short wheel base with 15.5 will have more weight capacity then duals.... that is if I single out but keep both axles? Think the bob would compromise weight capacity too much even if I keep duals. Do singles (with dual rear axles) help with maneuverability?

    Ever built a "shorty" deuce?

Prefer the smaller overall size of the deuce. Also need the air shift option.

    Ever built a "shorty" deuce?

Yea, maneuverability is my big question as well. The shorter truck would help but if it won't turn......

BTW, I am not advocating Selectros verses any other brand... just the brand I have....

    Deuce lockout hubs

I have selectros on mine and can tell the difference when I forget to unlock when getting back on the pavement. Won't notice alot of difference at highway speed but a noticeable difference when making tight turns at slow speeds. Since I run my trucks loaded, every little bit helps...

New member and new trucks in Ky

Welcome to the site. How are you and your brother to decide who gets which truck?:-D I bought 2 trucks with my nephew.... one truck was very low miles and nice paint... we had to flip a coin...

    Ever built a "shorty" deuce?

This may be a members truck. If not, has anyone else ever made the mod.? I need a deuce to maneuver into very tight construction areas and still have the duals to carry weight (am setting concrete yard blocks). This setup looks just like the ticket. However, (as referenced in a previous...

Looking at 1st deuce, how to tell if sprag works?

Owned 2 sprag trucks and never was happy with them. Even if the system is working today, it may not work tomorrow. Some guys like the sprag because it is more original to the trucks. If you are seriously looking for offroad use, I recommend that you stick with the air shift. Just my 2...

    what u guys think??

It takes alittle gettin use to... What kind of bed? You will need to add more "volume" in the rear to balance the large front end.
