I thought it was usually the 3rd weekend? Well, I guess I might be able to do the 27th. I had a great time at the past 2 I went to. Looks like Im missing both this year. Take lots of pics for those of us who cant make it and be safe.
Mine blew a brake line... or the proportioning valve. Looks like a brake line though. Leak is right at the valve from the hose that runs along the frame rail. Dot 5 all over. Not a good thing.
If you get it check all the seals and gaskets (especially oil seals on axles), do the doghead relay mod asap, check to make sure the parking brake isnt frozen (may cause issues down the road with a wheel drum locking up).
Read the CUCV wiki and -10 manual before you go look at it. Good luck.
Finally with some extra help, got the rear hubs rebuilt, new bearings and races. Will be finishing up the brakes and hardware tonight. Finally happy to make some progress.
Did an autopsy of the old oil seals and found out that odd spring like thing in the axle was part of the seal and had...
New bearings and races in the rear hubs of the crusty M1008.... anyone know the correct length and part number for the parking brake cables and bracket? I should probably replace mine. Ive found about 4 different lengths so far.

Please note (as I hope this is correct) that the thicker shoe...
Well managed to get the passengerside drum off... found that blown oil seal! Also found thise weird spiral thing inside the axle after I pulled thr shaft clear.... this project gets bigger by the minute it seems.
Got the brake drum hardware kit for both sides, red wheel bearing grease (says ngli 2 specs but for disc brakes, was all O could find rated for wheel bearings though), brake cleaner, and two rear inner oil seals. Im going to clean up everything I can lube a bit and tackle the brake hardware...
Im not really sure whats going on in there. The inside of the drum and the shoes were pretty dry. Ended up spraying the brake hardware with brake cleaner. The hub on the inside of the drum however, had some oil in there but no grease. Not sure if thats normal or not. I was going to replace the...
