The big single wheel legs are really a bad design. Holding 300lbs up while trying to direct the person in the truck is not my idea of fun.
Of all the M105a2's I've had the only one I just didn't like was a 2008 VSE rebuild. One side had a fiberglass sideboard and the other had an old wood one...
I had a bunch of Humvee troop seats and I tried to figure out a way to set them up in my 101A2. They'll fit with some creative brackets but it won't look right since they're so much shorter than the length of the bed. The boards could be used on the front rack and the back gates from what I...
I have a Bobcat attachment I made for moving trailers. It has the holes drilled so I can have a ball or pintle mounted on it. Usually I have the pintle on but the ball will move military trailers fine as long as you keep the tounge low enough that it doesn't pop up if you hit a bump.
The blue magnetic lights from Harbor Freight work pretty well to light the cab and bed. Sometimes they come loose on bumpy roads so I just keep them in a lidless 30 cal ammo can next to the driver seat and grab them when I need them...
I had a great time there today! Lots of really nice trucks to looks at, I took some pictures but they're nowhere near as nice as yours are aleigh. Hopefully next time I'll get to meet more of you guys, maybe at the March event.
I'll be there Saturday and will be bringing some friends to show them the wonders of giant army trucks. Is there a place to buy lunch on site or do we need to bring snacks?
It's the bridge plate. It tells how much it weighs so the military can divert trucks in a convoy to stronger bridges if necessary. I "think" that the 11 would be 11 tons since that's about what an M939 series weighs.
I think the easiest method would probably be to buy a sheet of gasket material and cut your own. I've never had one that didn't leak a little or come across a decent gasket.
I saw that same episode last week. Glad I'm not the only one who was yelling at the TV. Why buy a $1000 cargo trailer just to torch off the tongue (4 bolts) and suspension (16 bolts) and then take a sawzall to the sides of the bed! With all the 100s of M116's sold out of Barstow there had to...
Wow, lucky it stopped where it did instead of a few feet farther back. Looks like it would've gone belly up. I hope it comes unstuck easily. Good luck!
