I know... Am I the only one that thinks $7 (plus shipping) is nuts for a 20 cent washer?
I have plenty of poor people that can take it if I decide to start giving money away... :)
Amazon has copper 110 washers for $10...so it's actually a $.0901 washer... I just don't know if the right size is...
Anyone have an idea what this washer interchanges with? I need 4 of them, and they're listing for $9 each when I search the TM part number. That's ludicrous for a copper washer...
Is it maybe the same as a 1992 6.2 GM or something I can tell a parts guy in a retail place?
Part number is...
I'd recommend a little elevation. I have mice out around my shop, but I keep my mep's at least a few inches off the floor or slab on top of 4x4's or wheels and pallets. So far, the mice have stayed out.
I've bought a few with 1960's tires, too. I'm amazed they're not rotted, but I wouldn't trust them with a load. Those trailers I typically sold for what they cost me, and warn the buyer about the dangers in mounting split ring rims like modern ones.
Op, your FJ should have no problem towing...
I'm wondering if maybe these units can provide more than 5kw after all. I've been reading the engine specs, and it's stated to provide 8.5kw. I can't see the gen head consuming 3kw of inefficiency, so I'm thinking there's more to it.
I ran mine loaded into a 4500w water heater element for about...
The 802 takes 2 12v batteries. One on each side of the engine, with a jumper between them. I normally use lawn tractor batteries for ease of handling. They can handle the load no problem.
I can't give you an idea on the compressor. I was looking at those, also. Opted against them, as I really...
Sheesh, that's hard to work on. With 17 years of being stationary, I would absolutely NOT turn that engine over without spraying penetrating oil in the cylinders. There's probably minor surface rust on everything inside, and just turning the crank will be like running sandpaper on every moving...
You know, I was exercising mine the other day, and I realized the the cooling air blows right toward the control panel, across the exhaust outlet. I mostly noticed it because it was raining, so I only had the machine a few feet out the garage door, and I still got a lot of diesel exhaust in the...
Probably a bad fuel return line, or if you have not checked them, it may be that the injector lines were opened, then the unit abandoned and surplused. It's most likely a broken or open fuel return line, though. They're a little flimsy on the 802.
I knew I had a pic somewhere... Hard to see the color here, but you can see the pipe.
At some point, I may have a skirt made to keep rain out of the housing, but it's not at all important.
I just bought the coupler and extension at Lowes, plumbing aisle. Black iron or galvanized ought to be fine, but I used galv to avoid rust. I also painted mine OD and let it cure before running.
I've thought about this, but even with how smooth these run, they vibrate a lot. With the added weight of pipe and another muffler, and no way to support it independent of the housing, that adds up to a lot of stress on parts that aren't built to be load bearing; mostly the factory muffler and...
Did I read the right article? The one I saw was about the new generation of fuel efficient meps, didn't even mention the 80x series.
I just bought an 803. I'm very interested in seeing how it runs my house compared to my 002.
I will say that the 002 series is loud as heck, and the 80x series is...
I'm a big fan of Mobil 1.
Might sound weird, but I flush my generators with dino-oil, then switch to Mobil 1 or Rotella synthetic when they're ready for running. It's going to turn black and acidic quick anyway, so using synthetic at least helps it a little with the time spent sitting.
Also, before starting it, connect a wire from the chassis to a metal driven into the ground, or the household ground rod. The condition of it would make me a little concerned about a loose wire dangling on the chassis and electrifying it.
Do you have the missing parts, or are the pics all that you have? The fitting missing from the fuel tank has a dip tube on it. You won't be able to draw fuel from the tank without one. That fitting will connect to a hose that then goes to one fuel pump. Another hose comes out of that fuel pump...
$519 for a battery sounds like it was made for government and wealthy people's hobbies. I just installed highly specialized (12v) batteries with a 10 year lifespan for just under $300 each, and I thought that was crazy. When I spend almost $400 on a Deka 905D I grumble.
I would definitely keep...
