Yea, I told the tire shop to inspect the spare before they put it on (had to have it towed, stranded in snow with no tools!) The shop said the spare was fine, should've taken a pic of it but I forgot.
Great timing on this post. I am currently in the debating process about putting the original seat in or making the trip to a local junkyard for a 2003 third row suburban seat. (the first year they made LATCH standard). While the seatbelts and seat are in OK condition, I was concerned about the...
I'm reasonably new to the CUCV scene (bought mine in 2012) but that seems pretty high. I bought mine for 1,500 and spent another 1,500 to get it looking good. I'd keep looking, there are better deals out there, even if you have to put money in it after you buy it.
Edit: and yes I googled the...
Ditto. I had to do this a couple of weeks ago in KY and didn't see any negative effects. My top speed in 4 hi was around 50.
4 lo i would not use unless stuck or driving slow and in short distances. But there are far smarter people on here than me...
Please post a how-to of your method when you are done. I also have lights that I am looking to tie into the service light switch. Markg: if the OP isnt interested in the toggles, I may be.
While I had it apart, I thoroughly soaked everything in lithium grease. I took the rebuilt wiper motor back out and moved the linkage by hand. It was as smooth as smooth could be. I then put everything back together, and slow was slow, and fast was...not as slow as slow. I have yet to use...
The batts were both from 2010, from the previous owner. So I guess it was time for new ones anyway. I just hate finding out the hard way. I guess a little pro activeness on my part would have avoided the breakdown. Oh well.
Hi Scottladdy
I went back the next day to start and the batts were dead, the wait light came on when I turned the key but quickly faded, which told me batts needed replacing. I bought two new ones and it fired right up. I drove it this morning to work and it fired right up with no problems...
My batteries were dead. deader than dead. I took them out, took them to AZ, and got new ones under a pro rated warranty ( saved me $60). Installed new batts and it fired right up. 11 degrees at the time.
Two batts for this truck, a batt and an alternator for my daily drive trailblazer...
I started mine last night in a garage with no issues, then stopped to get gas since I was on E. I pumped 10 gallons in and it wouldn't turn over, just crank and crank. I gave up for fear of draining the batts. It was -2 here last night. So it is now sitting in the parking lot of the gas...
I removed the cowl panel and took the wiper arms off. what a PITA! I'm going to take the time and make sure to lube the linkage really well before putting it all back together. This is a project I don't want to repeat anytime soon.
BTW, I found this handy step by step posted by another...
