The 99CR is the 99th Regional Readiness Command, formerly Regional Reserve Command, and before that Regional Support Command. These designations have changed over recent years and the Army Reserve has undergone some reorganizations. This is one of the Army Reserve’s regional commands and covers...
According to LO 9-2320-289-12 (the lube order for the CUCVs) differentiak additive is required only for the front diff for the M1028, M1028A1, M1028A2, M1028A3 and M1031.
I believe you can download the Lube Orrder from the references section of this board.
ACE got the explanation for the BO drive the best. Before NVGs only the lead vehicles used The BO Drive Light. The night convoy move at walking speed. A ground guide walked ahead of the lead vehicle in the light pattern of the BO Drive light. That is why there is only one and it is on the...
If you are looking for the hose on the diaphram pump on the side of the block it is standard rubber fuel hose (I don't recall the size). I got a length of the stuff from my local NAPA store.
You should get 15 to 20 MPG from the M1009, much less from the pickups due to thier lower gearing. The...
Armyman, I plan on being at Aberdeen unless I must be TDY for my job. I have three spaces that I will be sharing with a friend.
Ferroequineologist, where do you get a degree in the study of iron horses?

Well, I checked the auction lot I was watching and it was not yours, so i was wrong about the frequency.
Now maybe I can help you; the battery is a 24 volt 4 HN. Interstate Battery might have them. I have a couple of 5kw sets and I will try a local Interstate dealer to see if he can get...
If my memory serves me it was a tall rectangular box about 8 or 10 inches on a side and about 12 to 18 inches tall. As I recal they had a radioactive element of some kind inside so they were carefully controlled and were not often used in training situations.
You might also check the contacts in the fuse block. I have had expeirence with two M1009s that had oxidized/bad contacts in the fuse block. Good fuse but still no power. Some judicious scraping and/or straightening of the fuse block contacts should fix this kind of problem. Remember that...
ARMYMAN,
If those are the gensets I think they are I almost got a couple of them myself. I stopped bidding when I realized that they are 400 Hz. If they are 400 Hz they will be fine for incandecent lights but you will not be able to use them for motors or electronics.
Good luck,
JD
Desert camo CUCVs were solid desert tan, there was no "pattern". The only other often seen marking was the inverted "V" friendly forces identifier. My (now woodland camo) 1009 will eventually be desert tan with the bumper numbers of the truck I drove in the desert in '91.
The EUC rules should be the same whether you purchase directly form the government or through GL. The requirement for the EUC is based on the DMIL code of the item in the Fedreal Catalog system. The Deuce is considered "Dual Use" (military/civlian) and thus is coded to require an EUC. You see...
Download the "Operators Manual" form this site and do the "Operator Before Operation PMCS". The step by step procedure (illustrated) is in the manual. This is the fairly complete check that the Army requires every operator to perform before use of equipment.
I have had "fuze" troubles with two CUCVs (M1009s). In one the WS wipers would not work and in the other the lights would go out suddenly. Thje problem in both cases was not a burned fuse but rather oxidized or burned contact surfaces in the fuze block. So... don't just look for a burned out...
Replacement "intervehiclular cables" are readily available. Saturn Surplus has them, as well as others. I have purchased them for as little as $20. These are replacement parts for the trailers.
Pulaski is North of Syracuse just off of I-81. As I recall a little better than half way to Watertown from Syracuse. It has been a whle but I have made many trips to Camp/Fort Drum from Buffalo or Niagara Falls in a previous life.
