Yes these are the same part number A C Delco's that the truck left the factory with. I have used nothing but these with the entire stock system for over 20 years on my trucks. Minimum of problems. No issues like I read here. Maintained the stock system and it served me well. It must have worked...
I replaced 8 A C Delco 5613939 13 G glow plugs in Big Red M1008. Hard start yesterday in 75* weather. 4 plugs bad. All 8 new replacements delivered from the GM dealer $88.72. Looked back in service records and they were last changed 10/09. Not bad for a snow plow work horse with 228,K miles on...
I service it. Remove it and replace it. Then it has been serviced. I have snapped cover bolts off a few also rendering them in-serviceable. I meant serviced as getting it rebuilt at a competent service center. Have a great day.
There goes another CUCV out the door. I like reading about these mods. It makes me realize how few unmolested original CUCV's are left in the world. Good Luck and have a great day. Not sure the 12 volt conversion is a cure all. But not my truck. Don't take this the wrong way. I am voicing my...
A word of caution. The 10/24 screws into the pump cover are steel. the pump is aluminum. What happens when steel screws are in an aluminum housing? 10/24 screws at that. Unusable core. I will say no more. Proceed with caution.
Not likely in park. There comes a time that things like seal and gasket just go bad. I would say it needs some internal attention. I had a few with these symptoms and the transmission was overhauled and that fixed the issues. It did cause a lot of whining on the customers end but it fixed the...
I use Diesel Care Products out of Memphis. I hear a lot of crap about them and everyone else. No one seems to have anything good to say about anyone anymore. I never had an issue. I did have issues with brand new pumps that I bought as NOS. So give them a call. If you search under 6.2 diesel...
My guess is if you never serviced the injection pump. It has called you out and needs rebuilt. Not a bad job about + - $400. and about 4 hours work. Good Luck. I change mine before they let me sitting. Mileage has nothing to do with pump. It is still over 30 years old and living on borrowed...
Yes no worries. It has been filtered and all is well. Good Luck. Get some Permatex the right stuff and glue the pan gasket on with it. Does a nice job. Don't go wild and have it hanging inside the pan and making black icicles hanging inside and out. A little dab will do you.
Buy the floor panels from LMC truck. I used them in the past. NOT my favorite thing to do but I have used them. Then when done. Line X the interior and live happily ever after. Forget about the home cured bed liners waste of time. Coming from a guy that has been paid several times to remove the...
Same reason I remove the bed on the pickups to service the fuel tank. Not so easy on the M1010 but remember I never kept an M1010 as an M1010. I made a pickup plow truck out of them.
The Good The Bad and The Ugly. The Bad is the only one that remains with me. Still For Sale but still working. The Mule M1009 beforeThe Mule M1009 after being returned to a stock M1009Terminus M1009 sitting pretty waiting for its next thrashing. Never came. Easter Find M1008 in the final stages...
Mad Cow Disease M1028A1 has been sold. Another CUCV has flown from the nest. That makes 4 this tear alone.
1.) The Mule M1009
2.) Terminus M1009
3.) Easter Find M1008
4.) Mad Cow Disease M1028A1
Most definitely. We done a test on a demo derby car one year. I had a door that the latch would not latch on the right rear door. We put a few tubes of urethane caulking in the door jam and some Lords 2 part adhesive. Put the safety chains on the doors. After the derby we tried opening the door...
A lot of if and unknown here. I bought a few in cans and set them back in vehicles and ran them. Most were just removed to put 6.5 engines in. Any documents with the engine? But to answer your question yes you can rebuild and use in a CUCV. most exterior long block parts are exactly the same...
Voodoo M1009 has blown the engine. After 20 years in the field it gave up and died. It seems that the oil cooler line broke off from corrosion at the steel clamp and it lost its oil in a heart beat and locked up just as fast. I did manage to get it started after replacing the lines but it is...
Chrome I assume. Then heat the nuts good on the back side and have at it. Wear PPE and take your time. Do from the center out push in on the bolts with the butt end of a hammer handle and all will be well. I would still replace the nuts to ease reassembling. Use 1/2 x 13 serrated flange nuts...
