Is it hard to start when the engine is cold even when using the GP? Reason I ask is it kinda sounds like a weak fuel lift pump, that provides fuel to the IP at pressure. The IP does suck some fuel and if in good shape an engine could run on just the IP or so I've heard. Or it could be as simple...
Sounds like the starter solenoid to me too, possibly intermittent and it might test fine and be fine UNTIL it isn't! That will be when you don't have any tools with you or your by yourself out of cell service and it's -10* do yourself a favor and have it checked out by someone that knows what...
I replaced a few over the years, I've had good luck with NAPA bushings in the rear. Fronts I don't remember where I got them (probably NAPA) and aree a bit more difficult.
No, the heater just dosn't have the power to do that (1500 watts IIRC) Years ago I used to plug in a civvie truck when I got home at night and left it plugged in sometimes all weekend with no problems.
In the past I bought a rebuilt alt and it came with a larger pully/fan, on that particular vehicle it didn't make a differance but could some one in the past have done that? It's not that big of a deal just take the belt back and ask for one 1" larger, 1" is a lot on belts!
Yes they do fit, I know this for a fact. On some of the early years the seat back is just a bit taller and it may hit the rifle mounts, the bigger problem is that on the 70s modles the seat belts came up thru the gap between the bottom and the back instead of having the plastic grommit thru the...
If you don't want to buy the gun talk to the guys at auto paint supply, they sell the stuff and the guns but also may still have one the salesmen use for promotion you might be able to use the for a deposit and the cost of the adhesive. If that fails they could probably steer you to a small shop...
I like Permatex too, I usaully apply it and assamble the parts but leave the bolts loose for awhile (sometimes overnight) then tighten them up, that way I seem to get a good seal without squishing it all out and bottoming out bolts. I never heard about the valve cover bolts cracking heads!
I think you could fit a few more lights on it if you try. You have been busy! You should post a decription of what the pic show, some of it I have no idea what it is.
Ahh don't do that, you'll regret it later. You have the bed off might as well do it all at once. To find the welds try using a wire wheel in a drill and strip down the flanges, the welds will jump out at you and be easily seen, using a stone grind off one layer of metal. When you've done that...
