Those rivets don't just clamp the two pieces together, they also expand INSIDE the holes and need to be drilled out. If you try to just drive them out with a hammer and punch you might succeed with one but you will end up denting the frame and sooner or later your hand too. The shocks don't...
Ah-ha! That kinda changes things, Yeah I'd pull the old one and drop in the new one at the same time I'd replace all hoses (heater too), belts, glow plugs and filters. Oil too of course, while in there I'd also take a look at the core plugs and install a block heater but that's cause I'm in NY...
Summit racing has a lock up kit that's much MUCH better than a hot switch, cost is about a hundred bucks and make the TC lock up automatically and then uses a cruise control brake switch to unlock. It's all automatic and you'll never forget to unlock it burn up the TC or stall the engine.
Before you pull that "bad" engine check and make sure it really is bad. My son picked up 1009 that the engine was "locked up", the problem was the dumb previous owner tried to start it useing 12 volts instead of 24v of course it didn't work so my son ended up with a good running engine with...
When I had my body shop open I did lots of pinch weld repairs and then the glass guys came out to do the install. The actaul glass reeplacement time just wasn't worth it to me to do.
Oh yeah the OP's question, Any glass shop can order it or if you have a LKQ (Like Kind Quality) parts supplier...
WOW I go away and then every body checks in!
Those headers are nice but pricy! They'll have to go on my "some day" list. I'm not looking to soup up my 6.2 just make it more efficient and take advantage of whats already there. Heads and manifolds have already been blue printed smoothed and...
I run mine down to my camp and back all the time (200mi) and found its not bad noise wise, of course th hood blanket and bedliner on and in the cab helps so do the three layers on rubber mats. The 700r4 is a big help too, a couple weeks ago the head pipe split and broke right near the left front...
Check your fuel (lift)pump pressure before changing the filter, if pressure low then decide if it's the pump or possibly a clogged filter sock in the tank. Personally my money is on the lift pump 1st, and the fuel filter2nd, and the sock last.
Mine too. The only time it actually goes into the green is in the winter when I cycle the GP twice and then start, its in the green and the drops down.
First thing, leave the injector pump alone! (Atleast for now) If you look on the right side (passenger side) under the alternator you'll see a lift pump mounted on the side of the block that provides fuel under pressure to the injection pump. Make sure that you have fuel in the tank and that you...
A bit late here, glad you got it going. Do yourself a favor and pick up a AC Delco pump and just hang on to it, I used to run Auto Zone pumps to save money but had to replace them about every year. What good is a lifetime warranty if you have to replace it every year?
Geez, it figures. I just took 5 6.2 water pumps to the scrap yard and one had a backer plate on it, I didn't need it and am trying to clean up stuff soooo.....
