I was about to highjack Bill's thread but that didn't seem right. Over the past few months I have modified my tool trailer by putting a mobile home axle under it and a ball receiver on the tongue (that sounds so dirty). Painted it too, white and black. I am using it to demonstrate my new...
I was thinking the other day, with fuel prices getting so high it might be worthwhile to invite people to more local get togethers in the future. I was also riding around on my families 45 acre wooded property and thought about has nice the weather can be this time of the year and how the woods...
I posted this here because it seemed a good spot.
I just left my DMV where I spent some time talking about titles with one of the supervisors. I get the impression from some of you that getting a form 97 from GL is all but impossible. I want to register and drive my new truck now. I believe...
I have picked up a new truck from GL and it appears to be a 1986 model. Anybody know who had the contract to produce them that year? It doesn't have any manufacturers info on the data plate. I need this to try and get a title.
Also this truck has a customs paper in the windshield that says...
My wife has been wanting to go to England one day, and I finally agreed. The week of July 16 to 20 or so. Just wondering if any of you guys ever go to the War and Peace show? I will be going if I have the money but that is true of most things in life any more. For those that don't know...
I placed my CBC I picked up a few weeks ago in the back of my truck today. Took a few pictures. I plan to use it tomorrow to help someone move. More to follow.
I hope I don't rub anybody the wrong way, but I know of two trailers for sale that would make great booty haulers. They are going to an equipment auction on tuesday so I didn't figure it was worth putting them in the classified. If anyone is interested PM me about them and I will put you in...
I picked up my latest purchase last week from Ft. Bragg. The CBC is made of fiberglass, not plastic, which is easier to repair. I made a hitch that I think worked great. You guys decide.
Well I checked my voltage on my dual voltage alternator (or is it generator?) and the high side is 29 volts and the low is 14.5. I think I am about to blow up my batteries. The volt meter on the inside of the truck is at the edge of the red.
What you guys thing? Do I need a new regulator or...
I have noticed my truck doesn't perform the way my old truck does and this has me concerned for a long trip. Two things.
My old truck ran 180 degrees. My current truck runs and holds 200. Is that OK or should I look for a problem? Seems to be working well and doesn't go over 200. It may...
Well, I had a nos M998 cargo cover sitting in the basement and a couple sets of the bows to fit the M998, and I need somewhere to sleep at the Helen Georgia gathering, so I figured, why not put it on the deuce.
It took a few hours and I have to finish but it's on the truck. It's not pretty...
I have been looking at building a custom set of bows and a cover for Bob D. Deuce and then it hit me, Put a shelter in the back for trips. I think the one's used for the CUCV are just the right size. X, Y, AND Z are about what the custom bed of my truck measures. Any body have one near me in...
I need just the pulley for a 60 alternator. I am going to have it bored out to fit a larger alternator. If any of you guys have one for sale I need one. Used is good. Still attached to an alternator is bad, but if the price is right that will work too.
If any body knows if any dealers might...
I have a question about a vehicle I am looking at buying. It's not a MV but I was hoping to draw on you north east folks knowledge. I also figured info about how to manage rust can't be a bad thing to talk about. However, if the moderators or this forum remove this post, I understand. Just...
I guess more than anything I am wanting to vent, but it's at least a chance one of you has some advice.
When I changed my master cylinder on Bod D. Deuce a few weeks back I kept asking myself, "what bonehead designed this thing with that one impossible bolt next to the frame rail ?" I later...
Well, I finally got enough of the truck fabbed up to use it today. It still is not road worthy, but I moved two loads of brush to the back side of the Ponderosa today. It dumped beautifully. I still don't have the alternator put on it but the batteries are holding up very well. I need to...
I need some tires for my pioneer trailer and I am too cheap to buy any. I also have lots of junk to swap for some tires. So here's the deal. I don't see any where on the site to post such a request. I could have over looked something because I am a part time dummy. If so please point me in...
It would appear some of you are like me and can't make it to Aberdeen this year. Well if you are near Columbia SC we are having out ground and air show the following weekend, May 19 at Ft. Jackson. Check out the link and I will post more when I find out more. I am a member of Celebrate...
We have a multi-fuel 5 ton with a bad turbo. We don't drive the truck but if we do it will be just to move stuff around on the property. Can I just remove the turbo and pipe the air cleaner into the intake and cap the oil line? If I run across a cheap turbo we might pick it up but that's not...
I have noticed a lot of people have bought new toys and are planning long trips in these things to get them home. If it has not been done before I thought it would be wise to make a list of spare parts and supplies to help make the trip a success.
First off I noticed an automotive section at a...
