Cabarrus County, NC vs the Trappster

When I picked up my Burma Jeep Monday, I got to meet a nice young man in Concord that wrote me a ticket. It was a delightful end to a long and stressful day. I post this story because it is just too bazaar to keep to myself. I'll try to keep it short. But first, the Ford GTB. I didn't get...

I bought a Burma Jeep, Ford GTB

Well this looks like the best place to post this. It's called a Jeep and I'm sure not putting this Ford in with the WW2 dodges. Anyway, I picked up my new (to me) Ford this week. From the pictures you can see it has the optional extended cab as well as the rear sliding window. These options...

    Drove my XM818 to auction

I drove my XM818 up to an auction company last week and it will auction off Wednesday. The main reason I posted this is because I pulled an equipment trailer behind it and thought some of you guys might like to see the pictures. If anyone is near Greenville SC and wants to check out the...

    Welding to a ring, lunnet?

In an effort to make the most of the surplus I have on hand, I want to use a lunnet (or what ever the official name is) from a scrapped trailer to make something, and I am wondering if any of you guys know if the steel these are make of is weldable? I know really hard steel can't be welded. Of...

    14.00 vs. 395/85R on M813

Well here's the question. I can find lots of 395's and not many 14.00's. Can I put the smaller tires on my truck? The biggest question is what is the 395 rated for weight? The 14.00 is rated at 9920 pounds I think. I would not consider anything less on the front. Thoughts? Joe

    HELP M818 down

Well as fate would have it, my EUC for my trailer cleared Friday, so I took the M818 out for good test run this morning. About an hour round trip. Half way through the trip I was getting back on the interstate and noticed in 4th gear it was loosing power. This lasted about 10 seconds and then...

    It appears I just won a M750

Well the auction is over and I have the high bid, so I'm off to the land of EUC tomorrow and then in a few months I can pick it up? Seriously, I think I just won a M750 (like I need one) and later when I have time I will have some questions for you guys that move stuff like this with a M818. I...

    Columbia SC June 12, breakfast?

Well I have a thought. There is a gun show this weekend at the SC state fair grounds and I thought that would be a great place and time to meet some people. I'm not organizing anything here, just making a suggestion. What do you guys think of meeting somewhere for breakfast (or lunch) and...

Is my truck 686 tan (carc substitute)?

Title says all. I want to order some paint this week and this is my first "brown" truck. Part number 33446 gillespie coatings is what I was thinking I need. I was thinking of painting the truck to match the hood, but I think it will be easier to paint the hood to match the truck.

    Towed a XM818, drove the M886

Well I'm as a busy as an ant at a picnic right now, been working every minute I can for a few weeks, but I spent the entire day driving my trucks. It rained all day so I couldn't dig ditches so it was a perfect day to pick up my XM818 from Ft. Jackson. Sorry to all you guys that wanted me to...

Dallas Mavis, anybody ever use these guys?

Not much to say after the title. The guy that bought my truck has a quote from these guys and I was hoping someone knows them and they are good honest people. Any thoughts? Also is it safe to load a 9' 2" high truck on a 40" high trailer? Thanks, Joe

Mep 701a - fired them up today, what next?

I had a little time today and my father-in-law was hanging out with me, so I thought it would be a good time to check out the generators. I have two Mep 701a gens with fairly low hours. Had them a few weeks now. Any way both had no oil or fuel so I started with one and filled it up with oil...

    My step side Bob deuce

Well, I have almost finished by BOB that I have been working on for a year. I wanted something different so I put a generator trailer bed on the back and added smooth solid sides. I had a M105 bed on it and just didn't like it. I hate the way the back finders sit higher and are so small. I...

Question about 5 ton on eBay

OK, first off, I haven't been on here much for several months and I thought there was an Ebay auction forum last time I was looking around. Is it gone? In fact I was looking for a thread I posted last year about having my M813 on ebay and I don't see that either. Was all that stuff deleted...

I just bought two MEP 701a generators, did I do OK or did I blow it?

I just won the auction on two (on one trailer) mep 701a's. I paid two times what I wanted to, but I really wanted them and the trailer. I plan to put the tires on my dodge. I have plans for everything. Anyway I have been reading on here about some of you guys' generators and it would appear...

What makes an ambulance an RV?

So here's the deal. My M886 has had everything removed from the back by some department when they used it for a command post. I have no plans to restore the inside. I also don't really plan to add much to it. This is the official "box van" for my friends and family. However, it only has two...

I feel odd driving my M886

OK guys, here's the deal. I really like my Ambulance, but I get odd looks when I drive it. I don't have a problem with that usually but it's starting to get to me. When people look at the deuce or 5 ton I look back with that "yea baby, you wish you where driving this" but I don't feel that way...

    2009 GA Rally-trader on line

I thought I saw a thread on stuff for sale at the Georgia rally, but I can't find one so I am starting one. If there is one , please move me to it. I just wanted to put a few pictures of the mule that is for sale on here. It is not mine and I will have to find out what my cousin wants to do with...

    Hey half track guys

Quick question. Are the two axles in my M15A1 half track geared the same. In other words does the transfer case turn the rear axle for the tracks once for every turn for the front, wheeled axle. I have no drive train and was thinking about putting in something to make the front axle turn. I have...

You can have your stinkin' deuce!

I know I'm going to regret this thread, but I just drove the M813 for a hour or so and I will never own another deuce. This big cummins powered monster is much more of a truck. It is quieter, more powerful, easier to steer and just plain manlier (did I spell that right?). I know you all lover...
