the brake problem. i would check your fluid level... check all your lines and wheel cylinders.. you could have a leak...or your master cylinder could be going bad download the tms and follow the trouble shooting tree
the lift pump is really kinda a pain in the nesck cause it is so close the the cross member. you can get to it from top or bottom... i normally go from the bottom if you jack it up and set it on jack stands on the frame ... not the axle you can get some more head room.. it does help a little to...
in the tm it gives the PN for the bulk line that the line is to be made of... looked that number up... and got the info... i tend to know my way around TM's and FEDLOG
the fuel lines on these trucks are the same as a 85 K5 blazer with a 6.2 diesel. i did some digging ...... 0.375 INCHES NOMINAL that is the size of the bulk line that you are to use to make the lines with the ends are 5/8-18 45 degree fittings
I would first start by changing the fuel shut off solenoid on the pump and rule that out.. when they get old sometimes they will only partially energize and not open all the way. if you look in TM 9-2815-237-34 it will give you all the setting for these pumps THEY ARE DIFFERENT!!! i know...
I have looked at alot of your posts on here and it seems that you have all sorts of electrical grimlins on your truck. these trucks are very simple and basic... take your time READ the TM's they will tell you all you need to know
:ditto: I am agree... you may have plugged your lift pump and or filter when you ran the truck out of fuel... that is when all the crap in the tank will work its way to the engine. also with no fuel in the lift pump that is when it is prone to fail. al it take s is a pin hole internally and...
do a search in this forum. you will find all the info that you need... yes there are some sinsors that can be removed and the holes plugged with frost plugs.
this seems more and more of the ol fuel filter leaking air issue... i HIGHLY recomend repalcing the fuel filter with a spin on style RACOR fuler filter... it will elimate alot of these head aches. The orgianl design is crap ... just to much can and will go wrong with it.
how much more pressure are you trying to obtain? the stock pump is more then capable of doing all it is ment to do.. if need be you can change the oil pressure relief spring in the pump to get the desired effect.... are you having low oil pressure issues? adding a turbo?
other then those locations you are not going to find much. these were civilain trucks converted for military use to make a long story. you may be able to locate on the frame rails somewhere where the Vin has been stamped into the frame. thats about all i have for ideas
well thanks for the feed back guys. i think that is the route i am going to go. it will be more cost effective in the long run... this way i can get it blasted painted and x-lined before it goes on the chasis
this winter i plan on starting to do all the body work to my 09. the weather and the roads here in iowa have not been to kind to my body. The cancer (rust) has got very bad on the floor pan, kick panels fenders and just about every where you can think of on the tub. i was thinkin about geting...
i have found it makes it alot easier to put all your injector lines on the pump before mounting the pump back up to the engine. it will look like a big scorpion sitting on the bench but it does take the head ache out of trying to get the bottom lines tight on the pump.
