NO, it's not Pantano, he's still in CO. I've tried to get him to come on over here to SS, but he's been spending a LOT of time working on his t'bird restorations..which are turning out quite nice!
I did get Reno Gene's info, will send that out later.
sferrari, there are a TON of MV folks in...
RE: anyone know "gene" the mv mechanic in reno nev
Gene, dammit I've got his last name on the tip of my tongue, digging through my desk for his number... sent a message to Ed Jackson in Reno, he'll have the number. I'll PM it to you when I get it or if I find it.
Great guy and knows his stuff...
Re: RE: no fuel to injectors
This simple reason is how I got my M109A3 for a song, actually made money from buying it! The shaft on the fuel cutoff was binding. After a second in the drill press with some steel wool polising it up, it's worked flawlessly since 8)
In CA, you're gonna need a junk slip unless you cut it up into small enough pieces that it can't be recognized as anything automotive.
My buddy just told me about a new FREE service called junkmycar.com, supposed to be nationwide. I guess you just make an appointment and they come get your car...
Data plate on mine does not list the TMS, but I found them on LOGSA about a year ago using this info Model ENG-3 FSN 4930-935-4451 Made in 1969.
Mine happens to be for sale $500. Missing is the compressor but the pressure pots work fine, I rigged it to use shop air instead.
I can't believe anyone would just ASSume that the MVPA won't care without trying first.
Now back to the subject, I've come across this numerous times. About 10 years ago EVERY truck that came up at DRMO Ft. Carson (and a few other bases) had to be demilled. This went on for about 3 months...
You guys are the greatest :D
David, I did dig out issue 95 MVM, great article there and some different photos than the write up in Standard Catalog of MVs. Also found Classic Military Vehicles the other night and plan to subscribe to that as well. Have never seen FAJ, quite interesting!
Jason...
There was a RV place in Colorado Springs, down off Delta Drive, right behind Mobile Pre-mix, that did about a dozen a year for Ft. Cartoon. Place has been closed up for about 10 years now. Was nothing really fancy at all, but they were cozey.
I'm in the process of doing my 109 van right now...
There is absolutely no reason to drop the turbo to drill and tap the manifold. If you're worried about it put some grease on your bit and tap. The shavings will be so small they will just blow right through the volute.
dieselstop sucks. www.powerstrokenation.com
Here's a '78 F350 we put a 5.9 into. Done about 6 more 70's Fords since. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/displayalbum.php?&albumid=16274
I've seen folks pulling the M105 behind a M1009...not a pretty sight and I gave them plenty of room around me!!!!! M101, not so bad as it sits pretty level, but still a bit heavy for the 1009, especially loaded.
Just pull it out in front of Pikes Peak Community College...there's military stuff broke down there all the time, the state troopers won't know the difference.
