    Gasoline with 10% Ethanol

I can't find gas without alcohol nearby so I wash mine with water before I use it in my tractors or small engines. You might have a source near check:Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

    Untimely passing of my daughter

:ditto: Leave it to the Chaplin to say the right thing. Unfortunately I know your pain having given an angel to God myself. Just remember the good times and you will make it through. I'll remember you all in my prayers.

    rear jerry can mount

I have three of those 2.5 gallon Blitz cans, believe it or not I bought them new back in the mid 80s at Target of all places. I've seen a few on Epay but they must be made of unobtainieum because they want so much for them.

    New Hydrogen Tech, very promising

I would tend to agree that it's not practical for vehicles generally, but would be applicable to industrial/utility purposes. When I was working in the chemicl industry we would get trailers of hydrogen several times a week. When the prisim separaters first came out the company jumped on them...

    High Park Fire, CO

I'm glad everybody and all the critters got out OK, but is sure is a sad sight to see what a wildfire can do. Best of luck.

What were the squirrels stashing under your intake manifold?

I bet I've harvested about a ton of acorns over the years in my vehicles. Especially the air cleaners on the 5 tons, they would be packed every year until I finally put one of those cyclone separators on the dump and an M35 intake cap on the M54a2.

    Shift lever for the sprag

I have been muddling this same thought everytime my sprag doesn't work on my M51a2. It originally worked only in reverse. Rebuilt poppet valve, replaced poppet valve, decided the air cylinder was bad, tried to rebuilld, currently looking for a new/servicable cylinder because the cylinder was...

I think they had a song about that truck, "Oh give me forty acers and I'll turn this rig around!" Sorry the devil made me do it.

    5 ton advice

What significance is the Xm813 on the tag have. Never saw one like that and wondered what it means. I bid on a LWB 5ton in Lebanon, MO many years ago it was the M39 multifuel type but got way outbid in a live auction. Remember those? The good ole days, you got it, paid for it, and got...

    Slowing Down A Fuel Thief

I've been running 100% WMO in my M51a2 for about 4 years now, I started using the right tank with diesel to blend the WMO when I first started. I haven't seen any signs of fuel loss, but I think I will go ahead and contaminate the right tank with about 50% WMO just in case. I think the people...

    Help with Fuel Alternatives

It's awful hard for us ole guys to read black on green I don't see anything new on this line, but those new to fryer oil remember the bottle of veggy oil leftover sitting in the refrigerator? That's what your fuel tank will look like when the temp drops below 40 degrees. That's parafin does...

    M105 Cattle Trailer??

Having hauled a cow and some pigs in a '50 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup I have to say I see a new smile in out future. Something like:gimp2: only with cows in it. It would be good to note that cows lean when you go around corners which is an interesting feeling in a pickup. For what it worth, I...

Well I did it, stuck Deuce

You can't believe how fast a tractor will flip over backwards and while it 's doing it you're off balance and probably won't be able to keepl your foot on the clutch. Even an under powered tractor pulling from the drawbar will stand up because the wheels are pulling the tractor up and away. I...

    Caption contest

I've seen some mighty fine looking young ladies wearin' bibs. As far as unloading it, chain it to a tree and drive out from under it. I've done that it works.

    Huge Turning Circle

:ditto:I believe RTK called it. The GM recirculating ball steering mechanism is precise for the highway, but is not that strong in a collision. I've twisted a couple in the civy version of the Blazer. While you have the box off might as well give the frame a good look for cracks around the...

A flapper that did not keep the rain out.

I've seen the flappers on my tractors stand up vertical in the wind during blowing rainstorms. I figured out the counter weights on the backside to make them open were the culpert. I cut down the counterweights on the ones that had them and added weight to the flapper of the ones that don't...

    "Welded Rears" on a Deuce??

I can't help wondering anyone that would weld the differential would also weld up the sprag? Just wondering out loud.

    long term storage of wmo

I haven't seen any algae in my WMO, I suspect the heavy metal traces and slight acidity keep it from growing. The only algae problem I had was in the tank of my forklift in the diesel that had been sitting around 4 years and had about a gallon of water in it.

    long term storage of wmo

Gasoline has higher volitols that will evaporate over time unless well sealed, I use old army cans with new seals and have kept it good over a year without problems. The biggest problem with gasoline that contains alcohol which will absorb moisture from the air and separate out in the bottom...
