Hope to see ya.....Not meaning to be a safe sally but that HAZMAT plate might get you some undesired results from a DOT guy if you display it while driving down the road.
Max, as I understand it, yes, your old parts on the CUCV transmission can be removed and installed on the HMMWV transmission. To be honest I am not sure what all needs to be used.I would look closely at both and you should be able to see the difference as it would be an exterrior as apposed to...
Hello Max,
As far as I know the transmissions are the same with the exception of the "park" position and the park pawl that would lock the flex plate. I would change the part from the CUCV transmission to the Hummv transmission. Put another way, the Hummv transmission does not have the park...
You said you primed the filters....Just how did you do that?
I can only assume you fill them with fuel and tried to start the vehicle. To Prime the system, You need to open the bleeder with the ignition switch on thereby letting the in-tank pump to push the air out of the filters.
If your...
to all the nay sayers, I'm glad you can't say "told ya so". I would have done it. In fact, If I didn't have to work I would have offered to be a co-driver!
No doubt I have always been a risk taker 8-)
I just got a text about 30 mins ago...he made it with no problems.
That's one lucky boy! I'll bet he spends the next 4 days in the rack with ringing ears and a grin. :grd:
Yea, that was it but didn't know it sold on ebay. The 109 was in pretty good shape compaired to many that I have seen. It went to Toolie in '89 where I assume the steel floor was installed along with the MWO's. 4350.00 is a good price on that unit.
The farthest I drove mine was from Tampa to...
We never really discussed his route or planned stops...I did give him about a quart of Dot 4.
An interesting note is that the cab cover (plastic) was rotting. In fact there was a large "vent" just over the drivers seat. Somehow I doubt there will be much left by now. Ha ha, probably looks...
We decided to drop the front and rear drive shaft in an effort to get better MPG. I would have liked to have a few days to look it over but alas he didn't have much time.
In my experence, you can fill the back of the truck with spares and tools but when you have a break down, it will be the one...
I was sitting in my hangar yesterday and was visited by someone that I know that was selling a 109A3 to a guy that was on his way to pick it up.
As it turns out, this guy bought a M109A3 here on the SS site unseen. He was enroute from Kansas to Tampa on a motorcycle to pay for it, load up his...
I would not use ether....there are many products that will get your duece running without beating the **** out of your top end....
Get a can of silicone spray...I use it on a regular basis to get diesels running that have low ICP issues to get them back to the shop.
If you have compression...
As stated before, you need to know what engine they are. I guess all engine/transmission combos are worth what nw42 said. Having extras that work (alt, starter, rad, etc) makes it worth more. Ya gotta know what you have before you can ask what it's worth.
Kinda like me asking you, " I have a big...
There should be a data plate on the side of the engine.
If the engine is complete, and it is a 151 you can start it on the pallet. Just don't rev it up or it will flip over.
Without a compression check, insuring it runs and a look inside the transmission, someone would be buying a pig in a poke.
Depends on what "jeep" they came out of....30,000 miles on a military jeep is a LOT of miles.
I can only assuem they were taken out because they were junk.
You need more info as to just what engine we are taliking about.
