Speaking of apples and oranges, an IP and a clutch are two very different things.
I run JP-8 (jet A-1) in my multi-fuel and my ford. No doubt that Jet fuel needs a bit of help on the lubrication side, ATF seems to work well.
I could care less about a red tinge to the fuel as I have never been a...
I think the idea of the goat, insofar as floating goes, it to "cross inland waterways". It was never intended to play around in the water.
The other issue is that you need to lube the goat in a somewhat timely manner after swimming.
I have swam mine a few times and at best it is diffacult to...
Big trucks require big tools. We work on Deuces and 5 tons all the time here on weekends for fun. Yep, we're in Central Fla too.
If you're close to Ocala, Ken Field (member fo the Fla MVPA) is close to you and works on the really big MV stuff.
If you're close to north Tampa, we can do small...
Mine's a non turbo, burning 50/50 WMO and JP-8. Smokes like a locomotive climbing a long grade with a full load, burning soft coal.[thumbzup] At least while under a good load, going through the gears and not quite at operating temp.
Dunno, If the IP is messed up, I don't think there is anything you can do to screw it up worse.
Taking the head off might be a good idea depending on your mechanical skills. There are several threads about the IP overhaul.
Looking good...I just picked up my Schoshe 4" speakers. I have two extra speaker housings and will do the same as you did.
The stereo is a Marine Dual that should work fine. The Pyle 12-24 volt inverter is in the mail.
I will be playing with the installation at work during my down time...
Ain't gonna make it this year. Got the red face when the gama goat broke down the last time! Got to get ready for the MVPA Rally next week. going to take the M109, M151, and the M274A5. Lot's to do.
Feel free to drop by our camp site and drink adult beverages and cuss a lot.
Going to have some...
You will have to get something like "bio blast" or any other algicide. I got mine through the International Truck supplier here in Tampa. The stuff is very potent and you need gloves, etc while pouring it in the tank. Sure to cure any fungus growing in the system from the old diesel.
I have run...
Yea, when it's that bad, you might as well take everything apart and clean. Fuel filters after that. if you have algae ( and you probably will) you will need to treat the system as cleaning will not clean it all out.
It will upset you to have the engine stalling at power due to the filters...
Sorry, I'm in Land O' Lakes. It is nothing odd to see some of these fuel tanks rusty and full of algae. Lift pumps are expensive so try and save the old one if you can.
I was wrong. The small line you have circled is the vent line....****. The large line at the front of the tank is the return line.
Surprisingly enough, I got a call Sunday to help someone with a fuel tank problem on a M109A3. Needed the lift pump.
Lot's of rotten diesel but we got him going.
The...
The small line that is pinched/broken off is the fuel return line from the IP/ injectors. It goes to that hole in the tank. It's missing the 90 degree flare. The large line is from the lift pump to the IP..... When you turn on the "ignition" the lift pump should start and followed closely by...
I got a kick out of the audio on that video...you can hear the cooling fan while the guy is xmitting ....typical of a RT-524. and as stated above, the Goat has a carrier, not a trailer so hauling a trailer is OK.
Greasing U-jointsas we know is very important. If you don't see grease comming out of each end of the U-joint, you might want to take it out and insure that grease is getting there.
Ask me how I know this....grrrr.
The compressor is 12 volts. The AC unit in the back is 24 volts along with the fuel fired heater and the few outlets.
there was a time when I got two 1010's electrical system working correctly but it took a 'tec rep's" troubleshooting guide to do it.
My headlights would dim about every 3-5...
I agree, after a few 'ultimatums" I decided to fire my wife. Now I get all the toys I want.
I'm still trying to figure out how a guy sitting on the honeypot in the back of a 130 managed to keep his harness on????? It's bad enough trying to keep your paints off the deck least they get soiled, and...
deuceaid, good question. If you use the red coolant you might want to add silicate to it.
I know the International 466 type engines use the red stuff but the silicate keeps the seals in the sleves, etc from failing.
I have no idea what the military designation for the red coolant is.
Your spare tire is the wrong size and mounted in the wrong place......sorry, I just had to:razz:.
The A2 did not have the same trouble with "rolling" as the earlier 151's so it's not a major worry. You can roll anything if you're driving like an idiot.
Not sure what 319 is talking about with the...
After you get the rear drums off, you can seperate the carriers brake system from the tractor by disconnecting the so called "quick disconnect" on the RH side of where the carrier meets the tractor. You will then need to get the brakes working on the tractor.
It is not wise to drive the goat...
