No it isn't an A3 Duce.. Anyway, I think Rich Miller (RIV RAD) has a few with the parts. Seems a lot of the STE ICE units are missing the connector for the CUCV and later vehicles. As far as the Duce goes, you don't need the large connector to get the info. It's smarter than a thermos.

    Painting My Goat USMC

Yea Joe, there are parts out there...But some parts are very hard to find. Going back to 24 Volts, other than a PIA shouldn't be a big problem. Gonna have to get gauges, sending units, Alternator, Starter, Horn and bulbs. There are some sharp guys on here that know quite a bit about the goat so...

    Painting My Goat USMC

I looked at the photo's again. Don't know if that was some kind of insulation that was installed or if it was to protect whatever was in the back. Being red, I can only assume that the Dept of Forrestry or some FD owned it...Might it be to protect a water tank??? Never seen foam glued in like...

    Painting My Goat USMC

Hello Joe, The rear (trailer) I believe was filled with foam. The whole unit was welded together. I'm not sure what you mean by plates. The bench is made from fiberglass and flips up and down. the rest of the bench was part of the goat wheel well. In photo 2 I see the thin sheet metal plate that...

    fuel filter help

I think you answered your question as to where the small filter goes. It's the primary filter.;-)

I have been playing around with this STE ICE (junk box) quite a bit lately and decided to use it on a Duce that a friend wanted to buy. I know that many people don't like the Junk Box and think it is not useful. The manual is not the easiest to follow but after you use it a few times it gets...

    Power Pack for m151

Yea, seems like a moot point as you have already bought it. Also, looking good and running good are two completley different things. do a compression check and then tell me if it was a good deal or not. Sorry, I just had to put my 2cents in.

    Carrier Bearing

I have not read that MWO but heard about it. I replaced my tube as it was stained from the oil and was no longer clear. Each time I do remove the dog box, I insure that there is oil flow to the top of the transfer case shaft. Adding a door where you can see the tube would be an iteresting...

    Carrier Bearing

Fair enough Mike. I guess my vibration is somewhere else because my rear shaft is out awaiting re-assembly. Very interesting topic none the less! I do plan on taking the dog box out again ( grrrrr, what a pain) and going over the whole monkey motion of insuring things are secure. I will take...

    Slow vehicle safety

At least in Florida, driving with your 4 way flashers on is illegal. I have seen where idiots have run into the back of school buses, painted bright yellow with LED flasing lights. No matter how hard you try ther is some idiot talking on a phone not paying attention and will plow into you...

    Carrier Bearing

Mike, I was about to blast my propeller drive shafts for the M151 and believe it or not they are welded "out of phase". There is no way, other than cutting and re-welding, the shafts to be correctly phased. The 151 is basicly the same as the gama goat due to the differintal being secured to the...

    Carrier Bearing

Very interesting. I guess I should look at that. Thanks for the info. ET

    Carrier Bearing

I'm not sure how to tell if the drive shafts are "in phase". Thereis vibration but not so bad. I have a Chadwick (made for balancing helicopter blades) and was considering installing it at various places just to see what the vibration is. I have had this goat for a long time now and it has...

    Carrier Bearing

Nice clean shelf. I had no problem getting it apart as I had to do it while it was installed. The bearing had to be heated/chiseled off the shaft. I believe the rubber is still good and will work up the shaft later as I am in the middle of a 151A2 restoration. Drove the Goat during a local 4th...

    Carrier Bearing

Gamagoat1, Thanks for that info! I hope the rubber fits tight around the bearing. I will be happy when I can lubercate the bearing as it is tho only one I couldn't. Seems there are many parts on the goat that are made out of "un-obtanium". Thanks Again

    Carrier Bearing

There is a post on SS about the carrier bearing but no part numbers... Anyone know of a civvy part number/conversion for the carrier bearing? Although the bearing is seized the rubber can be salavged. It took a torch to heat it up enough to get it off the drive shaft. In doing so, the bearing...

So, what's the deal with trailer prices? My weekend rant.

Interesting rant. I guess you had no idea what a M105A2 was when you bid on it if it was more than you needed or wanted. OK, I understand that. If you made a mistake and bid on something like that, you should consider yourself lucky to get rid of it and a profit albiet small, to boot. It would...

How to use m35a2 slave cables

As the slave is connected directly to the battery and the battery is very dead you could hear a "pop" and might see a slight arc. I have heard a "pop" when connecting and also a slight drop in the donor vehicles engine RPM as the alt starts working.

    Master Cylinder Question

Do you have any experience with engines? If so, you do the same thing that you would with a civvy engine....#1 to compression stroke, take it to the little markie on the crank pully lining up with the little pointy thingie. Open cap and look at rotor.....you just found #1. I'm not meaning to be...
