    still alive and kickin

I was in Beirut about a year ago and noted MANY ex MV's.....M 151's, M-35's, CUCV's and most had the radios installed. It's nothing uncommon to see US MV's all over the world. Don't forget that we sell vehicles just like we sell fighters and other aircraft to freindly () nations. I'm sure...

    Altenator parts/snapped flange

You might want to check the lower mount / bolts. Many times, the lower mount or bolts along with the alt holes get enlongated/ worn allowing the alt to sit at an angle. I have noted this on several alts that had a broken ear. If the problem is at the lower bracket, you will end up breaking...

    **Florida Richloam MV Summer Rally**

Hopefully I will be able to bring more toys next time.....Also have the Goat fixed. Made it home the back way without problems.

    Master Cylinder Question

Yep, the line is a VENT line. The cable goes to the PCV valve and is to be pulled thereby not allowing the crankcase to breathe and pressureising the engine to keep water out. Looks like an A2. Fuel tank is vented too. I suggest you get a manual for the vehicle as there are going to be a...

    Spark plug info.

Yep, unscrew the lead and wiggle-pull the wire out of the plug. I guess you might be able to find them but either way they will have to be ordered. Give Rich Miller at Riv-Rad a call as I'm sure he has some for a reasonable price. He shipps the same day as well....number is 251 988 8666. Good luck

    adjustment of the fuel rate

Thanks for the manual and info. I think I'm going to live with the smoke. While increasing RPM the occasional "miss" has gone away.

    adjustment of the fuel rate

Hi guys, I changed the IP and now she runs but with several issues. I don't know how to adjust the Fuel Rate and have no reference to a manual to tell me how to do it. also, I have an occasional pop or rather a hollow sounding miss. I assume it is an injector that might have gotten a piece of...

    fuel sending unit

The P/N's for the M38 fuel sending unit does not match the M561's P/N, at least in my parts manuals. The 715's brake shoe lining kit does match up and so does the instrument cluster for the 151. Of corse, we all know about the standard M series things like lights, guages and such. It would be...

    fuel sending unit

Just a tidbit of info. I needed a fuel tank sending unit for the Goat as mine was TU. If you take a M151 sending unit and swap out the float it will work. Took about 5 minutes and now I have an operating fuel gauge.

    injector pump

Oh, very well. I will wait with baited breath! Trying to do a favor for a friend. Poor guy has a "well used" duce that has continual problems.

    injector pump

Don't want to sound stupid here but I have two questions.... 1) I have an injector pump labeled LDS 465 1A. The engine is an LDS 465 1D. Will the IP work ( I assume it will) and do I have to do anything different? 2) I can't seem to find the manual or a reference to how to time the IP. I do...

    Paint color

I plan on repainting my Goat in the near future and will also paint it in the MERDC scheme. Anyone know where I can get the manual, TB43-0147 or an online sourse? Probably going to do up a M151 as well. Regards, Emmett

My first scratch built M109 calling it force OA

Is that a cardboard box???? I was thinking of all the work I put into my 109A3 and wondering how he was going to get it done in such a short time......now I know.

    Transfer case

All went well. Both transmission and transfer. I'm not really set up for "heavy" equipment here so I am happy it was done without mashing my fingers or worse. took it for a test drive and amazingly enough, very quiet and no vibrations. I will keep an eye out for seal leaks but the xfer is as...

    Transfer case

Neither were too hard. I have decided to replace the transmission first as it requires a bit more "jiggling" than the Xfer. The flywheel was a real bear to reinstall as it weighs about as much as I do. My friend is going to have to replace my NOS transfer case that we used, I'm sure that's...

    Transfer Case removal/replacing

I'm happy for ya...Just pulled out a transmission to find the Xfer case also needed to be replaced too. Both are out now and will install again this weekend. Thanks to a large transmission jack and a -20 everything was straight forward. The hardest thing is the ****ed heavy flywheel that...

    Transfer case

Yea, what is stopping the shaft from moving all the way out is the gear goes against the case. The shaft still moves regardless of the gear being in low or high.....BTW, I measured it and it moves 1 1/16 of an inch. So much so that when the shifter is in the LOW position, the yoke will slide...

    Transfer case

yep Yes,,,,,that much. After the short-shaft from the xmission to the xfer was removed it really moved. It's as if there is nothing holding the input shaft in place. I think the only thing holding it is the shifting fork and the short-shaft prevented it from moving too far forward. I did...

    Transfer case

While removing the transmission for a clutch change, I noticed that when the Hi/lo lever that the transfer case input shaft moved in and out. The yolk ( I guess that's what it's called) is loose on the input shaft although it is down tight. The whole shaft moves about 1-2 inches fore and aft...

    More required parts

Thanks Recovery....Makes me feel old! haahha I have a few extra ball joints but thanks Frenchman. I will try the Red River later today. I have to admit that overhauling the entire suspension system is a royal pain but finding required parts has become even a bigger one. I was surprised to type...
