The only problem I can see with the SF-97 is there is no weight stated. How much does one of these weigh??
We'll try to get it going this weekend and I'll let you know how it goes.
Yep, heater was by-passed, looks like the core had a leek. Went to pull the fuel tank plug out and when I turned it the plug and threads came out, so jb weld it back on. The fuel that came out as old, but not to bad.
Just picked up a new M715. It has 10,000 miles on it and came from a local DNR fire station. This will be a great project for the boys and me. I won't know until I get it started, but might not be much of a project at all, looks like it's ready to go. Need to put two batteries in it and see...
One thing I haven't heard anyone use or try on a 6.2 are injector line heaters. I use them on my 7.3 and 12v cummins with good results. I need to try it next year on a spare engine and see what happens.
Thanks, that help a lot:grin: From what your saying the flywheel is kept, probably to put on the new motor when they change them out, so finding another one will be a harder find. One had a starter on it, so got lucky on that. Once I get a fly wheel we'll see if I can get them going. And...
Are there any other models/makes of engines......... like the two cylinder onan that will have parts that are interchangeable with this model??? If I knew I could start looking for parts not specific to a lpw4.
Winter is coming so I'll be taking my test maybe next month. There is a club 1 hour west of me and I'll be able to take it there. If nothing else I'll head to Green Bay to take it there. Now I need to look for a simple transceiver to get my feet wet.
I can't believe I misses this. We've had so much heat this summer that harvest being so early my internal calender is all messed up. We were planing on coming down for the gunnery range, bummer. Hope Dave can put things together again for next year. Thanks for all the pics Eric :D
Don, I got some o rings from mcmaster-carr I have the same problem as do a lot of guys with A3's I'll look up the #'s and post them later. I don't have time to find it but I got the #'s from a thread on here that someone started and it had some great info for replacing the orings
yep, but you didn't have to recover these for me :-P I have one of those Chinese single cylinder engines too I bought a few years ago that runs a oil press. Its a re make off a german design.
On a side note, I would just about kill to find an old huey to use for a static display/club house for the kids.
I've had the same idea, if you find two let me know, and I'll do likewise. :)
I have a old one cylinder Petter I bought a few years back, and I've seen the old single cylinder listers, almost bought one of those a few years back. See the pattern here:) Never would of thought they'd still be in business. I'll embrace the power and see where that dealer is at in Gaylord...
I bought these three motors and was going to post on the wanted to buy section what I needed for them. I figured there'd be a tag with the model # or something but nothing except a ser #. There water cooled ONAN, 4 cylinder diesel. I'm guessing generator motors. Once I know what i have I...
Thanks for all the info. Scratch and dent, that's why I couldn't find them for that price. I'll make that a regular check when on line and wait until there available again.
