My wheel hoses are like rocks. Maybe painted 30 times, who knows. One leaks. I would like to replace them all. Does anybody have a source for these hoses? They must be common on some other trucks too.
Thanks!
Thanks...so far no luck.....I will have to use another truck for the event. I spent so much time on this darn thing lately. Oh well, Murphy strikes again.
Thanks! When you say drain the system, you mean purge all the air out, correct? I don't think its air over hydraulic, so we are not talking about fluids.....
The truck was working fine. Then all of a suddenm, the brakes or parking brake are stuck on. The truck will go into gear and it tries to move, but seems held down. Every once in a while if I mess with the air brake engage knob, the brakes will get released and the truck can roll forward...
All that I have been able to find are troop seat kits of the M1078 LMTV.
Does anybody have or know where to find a kit or the parts to make a set for the M1083 MTV or M1093 LVAD? The bed is longer, so it requires three large seats and one small single seat per side.
Thanks!
Make sure you have the right platform. I bought an LMTV with the gunner's kit already installed and the A/C unit fit dropped right it. Where do you think yours needs to be trimmed?
So, I started upgrading the LVAD lights to LED. i took out some Trucklite military LED lights and began as usual, to disconnect the old and reconnect the new. However, the numbers on the wires did not match the new unit. I turned over the housing of the old unit and in yellow letters it was...
I am embarking on a new project and I have given myself a drew weeks to finish it. I have all the parts, minus the bots and washers that I will need to order.
Basically, I am taking my M1151 HMMWV (minus the basic armor) and adding the basic armor. See the pics. Notice it has wheel well armor...
When she arrived she looked good. Look at the poor roof. A repaired roof is being fitted in the photo. Thew major problem with the FMTV trucks they are selling is that most are missing the turret hatch cover. This means they filled up like aquariums with water. Usually it settles on the floor...
My LVAD roof was so rotted, I had to cut the rails off and fabricate new ones and weld them on. Now it fits and locks down secure. BAE wanted $5000 for a new roof. I also bought a cheap but new dropped HIMARS cab and stripped a lot out of it for parts.
If it helps, these units were designed for the M-42 HIMARS missile truck, which is mounted on an M1083 and with a standard FMTV cab with added armor and sound proofing. With the blast shields down, I imagine it gets pretty hot in there. That said, the truck has the same CAT engine and cab as...
That's an option, but it would be my last. It's not the price, which I am sure is a few K, but the LVAD cab is different in that the doors and windows fold down and the roof comes off. That means I would be destroying a perfectly good cab, just to cut out the floor. I would hope somebody who has...
The floor pan on my LVAD is rusted out and needs to be replaced. I am pretty sure I will not find another one. I am guessing somebody has made one for a military truck before and I am hoping I can learn how to do it myself. I bought some galvanized steel, not I just need to figure out how to...
HMMWV's are not going anywhere. They have too many of them. Many armored versions have only seen the roads on the base. I just got back from Korea and they were driving around M998's that were in pretty good shape....
Do you need a JLTV to ride in around the base in a non hostile environment...
You can buy the rubber cord in rolls.....its not expensive. The tarps last a long time if they are not getting punted by hot and cold. If you do not need it on, i would leave it off. Its a pain to put back on.
Depends on what you need. Some parts are plentiful, other are impossible, such as door handles. I am working on obtaining much of these as I have several that I am working on. What else do you need?
