    wreckerman893 Good, um, Great Troop!

Yeah, He's done it again. I've been waiting for way to thank him for the great presents he sent my way. I was truly surprised. Richard is the reason I joined this forum. Helpful, knowledgeable, and very giving of himself of time and energy. One of these days, I'll get out of the wet that is...

    WT... I is so confused

So, why do they list, on GL, m1008 or CD-30903. They look the same. Is there a difference? Or is GL just trying to frustrate my searching? Closed auction. No picture of the data plate, of course...

    Which genset for home power?

Average home. Needs 220 as well as 120 for power. Which Genset should I be looking for? After buying our new place, I noticed a lot of people have propane tanks which has me somewhat concerned for power outages, even though most of the power is underground. Average home (LOL) We found one that...

    Info behind 1941 Chev

This is listed locally. Claims to be a 1941 Chev 1.5 ton truck and former military. Is it still considered a CCKW? Obviously needs tires and glass. But worth saving? Do these have data plates?

    Using a Mule in theatre

So, while my son and I were at the Arlington Fly-in last month, we came across a Mule on display in Camp Adams. Talking a bit to the guy that owned it, I think, he mentioned that these made so much noise that the soldiers in the field were instructed to carry them when they were on patrol as to...

    Engine for 1984 m1008

First, I need to verify what engine actually came with the truck. Second, How difficult is it to find a running one? Engine, that it. Truck I'm looking at threw a rod. Seller claims 6.2L Third, What does a running engine go for these days?

    Names on your deuce

This is sort of a take off of the http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/91318-whats-your-deuces-name.html thread, I noticed a lot of deuce windows have soldier's rank and names on them. The question I have is, do you, when you get one that is like this, remove the name or keep it on? How important...

    Shelter?

What does a shelter, P/N 02-2731539-1 fit into? Or on?

    M37 vs M56

Moving this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/wwii-dodge-trucks/90064-wc-51-what-look-2.html#post1157193 to here. Whats the difference between the M37 and the M56? Without looking at the dataplate, because I don't think I'll be able to go back to the one I found near me.

    WC-51: What to look for...

So, when looking at one of these, what should I be looking for? I ask because I found one sitting in a field, but before I jump all over the property owner, I do I know it's any good? Good being restorable. I do have a couple pictures, but I'm waiting for them to upload.... And they're just of...

    Lubricating Lunette/Pintle?

Question is: does this need lubrication? If so, with what? I ask because while towing today, doing slow turns, it sounded like it was binding up. Everything looks good. The only fix I can think of is to throw some grease on it, but what?

Proper tow bar connection to any CUCV?

Could someone show a picture of how to connect a tow bar to a CUCV? Thanks much!

    Safety chains

Well, I did it. I cut the Shark hooks and chains off my trailer. They were too short to reach my truck. Bad thing is, my quick release are too small to go over the loops the held the chains on... Should have cut the first small chain link, not the link that connects to the loop on the trailer...

    Trailer tongue stand

So, for my m101A2, I want to scrap the kick up stand and put a wheeled retractable one on it instead. What should the weight be? I see them all the way up to 1500 lbs, but that, I think, is just a wee much. Why wheeled? So I can push the thing around over my pintle instead of having to lift and...

    m39a1?

Is this a true naming of a truck? Yeah, I found one on a site that sells all kinds of things. Local to me. I thought these were called something else, like FMTV or something like that.... Same animal? I Googled the name and found one, and it looks like a FMTV.

    Value?

So, what should a decent 1962 Unimog go for? Didn't get the miles off it. A local used car lot is selling one. I've seen some go for the upper teens to low 20's which is why I ask. Also, does anyone have a shot of a complete dash? This one is missing a couple gauges and I'd like to see what...

    m1101/m1102

So, tell me, other than these are 'new', why these are so neat? The ones that I've seen on auction seem to have lots of extra hardware on them that don't seem to have much use in the real world. Weightwise, the 02 seems lighter, but their bigger? Or is GL doing a bad job of listing them? Doing...

    6x6 vs 4x4 10 ton?

So I saw this listing on an ad service where they claim their 10 ton had a switch, on the dash, in the cab that would turn the truck from a 4x4 to a 6x6. Now, I know that the rear two axles would have power all the time, but that doesn't make them a 4x4... Or, because I don't know 10 tons very...

    Find the funies...

I came across this ad on line, and had to laugh. See if you can spot why: Pinzgauer 712 for sale. Very low miles. Excellent condition. Parts are readily available. This is one of the most off road capable vehicles in the world. It will go places that you are unable to walk through. It is a...

    WWII Bombers in Everett, WA

KING5.com | Seattle News Video on Demand I'm sure you don't actually get to 'fly them', but fly in them, but still, what a ride! I didn't listen to the audio. But what a plane that is! I couldn't tell what model it is. Anyone? A B-3?, going by the ball cap? Wish it had a better shot of the...
