If you were getting white smoke and now you’re not, it could be a fuel related issue. Just because it only has 30k miles means nothing to these trucks, they were used in the military. I’ve had mine for about a month, and I get CLOUDS of white smoke when cranking and during idle until it heats...
I’ve definitely decided to make my own, and your input on the NiCopp line is much appreciated. I wanted to follow the way it’s hooked up, simply because it sounds easier in my head. The supply line has 2 breaks in it before the pump, the 1st one breaks and just has a rubber hose connecting them...
Thank you!! I did buy a new fuel tank and sending unit, I worded it wrong. I just need fuel lines(supply and return), I got the sending unit that deleted the 3rd line. I’ve never bent lines, but I do have a pipe bending tool so that might be my best bet. I installed a clear filter before the...
I’ve been searching for new fuel lines, both supply and return. I just bought a new fuel tank, it was gunked up like you wouldn’t believe. The lines are the same, I’d rather buy new than clean the old. Any help would be appreciated, I couldn’t find anything on the original lines.
Oh, ok. They extended both wires into the cab, the 2nd pic of the 1st post showed me holding both positives spliced with black wire. The original voltmeter was gone, and they didn’t have one installed. I got a digital intellitronix voltmeter ran to the original voltmeter wiring, it shows around...
It’s still 24v, the batteries are in series. 24v wire from the 24v junction box at firewall to the positive of rear battery, wire from 12v block to negative of rear battery, wire from rear negative battery to positive of front battery, negative of front battery grounded to body. The slave...
It works, so I haven’t messed with it aside from securing it to stop it from moving. Both alternator Positive wires are ran through the firewall connected to this.
I’ve read the posts, so I know the basics of what needs to be done. I just wanna be sure I don’t fry anything. Truck gives me hell when starting, I assumed glow plugs or something. I had my hand resting above the resistor, when I moved my hand hit the wire on the passenger side of the resistor...
Does anyone know where I can get extensions for this type of setup? I’ve looked but only see the other types. It bolts to the leaf spring u-bolt plate, but now it’s about 2” away from bolting to the frame. Any suggestions?
Not sure how to tell if it’s on or not, but I always depress the pedal halfway when cranking. It only idles rough for about 30 seconds, I give it a little throttle to keep it from stalling. I let it run/idle for 1 1/2 hours today, the white smoke didn’t go away. It will smoke a little less after...
I’ve read the posts, I was just curious where I can find a longer driveshaft? New to the M1009 cucv world, I’ve owned it for 3 days. The previous owner put a 6” Rough Country lift on it with 35s.
Side Note: If anyone has any idea why it pours out white smoke from exhaust nonstop, any help will...
I’d say dirty white, it definitely has a strong diesel smell. I just bought it, haven’t done anything to it except crank it. It has a rough idle for about 10-15 seconds, then it idles normal. I ran it for about 20 min yesterday and it smoked the whole time, I’ll let it run for longer today. I’ll...
Just looking for some help, new owner of an
85 K5 Blazer / 6.2 DIESEL / M1009 CUCV
Cranks up, idles, but blows out white smoke nonstop from both sides of the dual exhaust. My cousin said it COULD be the injectors, but I’ve also read that it COULD be the timing. The previous owner also put a 6”...
