That’s a pretty cool rig. Are there any off road trails around Scottsbluff? That’s not terrible far from where I live. Looking for someplace to take the Humvee, H2 and Scout II to go mess around.
Just wondering if there are any Humvee or MV clubs of groups that get together in Nebraska or western South Dakota? Also wondering if anyone has been on any of the trails in the Black Hills or Badlands? I am wanting to plan a trip this spring to either the Black Hills/Badlands or to the Rockies...
Reminds me of a couple quotes from the movie Air America
Rob Diehl: Hey Gene, You will remember what I said?... Shhhh!
Gene Ryack: Well the problem is Rob, you and I weren't here, this conversation never happened, so I cant remember what the **** you didn't tell me!
Billy Covington: Gene...
The clear ones that came with my hub seal kit are 0.005 inches. The seal kit said to get it in spec usually you need 5 to 7.
Do you happen to know what’s the specs are for installation?
Looking great!!! Are you going to be able to use factory air intake? I only ask because I have a deep water ford kit and when I do my Cummins swap I want to keep the DWF kit as intact as possible.
Did they come with a bar to put through the hole for recovery or do you just find something that fits and make it work? Just wondering cause now that I know what it’s for I am putting a rope and two bars under the back seat just in case I get to try it. If there is a “factory” bar I would like...
Wow....I am blown away by how much everyone here hates rollin coal . So many fun opportunities you guys are missing. Some idiot pisses you off in traffic just skip two gears and mash it. Now his cab is full of black and he can’t see. I miss my 5.9...
Also expect the 6.2 to fail very shortly then you can go to a Cummins or Duramax and spend 30,000 or so to blow a little smoke and burn up another motor.
Rollin coal is caused when you are dumping more fuel than you can burn. Easiest way to get this from a 6.2 diesel is to turn your injection pump up a little excessive and drive it like you stole it. 90% of fuel overload “rollin coal” happens at low RPM under a load. The bottom end of each gear...
Has anyone gone the route of just changing the input gear on the t case? The input shaft from a NP208 is the same as the NP218. NP208’s came in both 27 and 32 spline so if you put the 27 in your 218 the 700r4 is direct bolt on. There are two different lengths of the input shafts. Can’t remember...
Good idea on printing them out and holding them together. If you are building a 700r4 that came from a gas burner you will also need to change out the governor gear.
Duramax or Cummins. I have read that the Cummins swap is a lot easier and cheaper option than the duramax and it takes a lot less fabrication to fit. Not saying the Cummins is better or worse just an easier fit. If the 6.5 turbo swap seems like more than you want to tackle then I don’t know how...
How easy it is going to be depends on how good of a mechanic and fabricator you are. Projects that some find to be simple might look daunting and impossible to others. Body work on vehicles always seemed like something way out of my league but after tearing into a vehicle and replacing cab...
It seems like they “cleaned house” by selling the beat up and non running stuff first and now they are down to the ones in better condition. They also advertise a LOT that they have a limited supply remaining. I agree with Juanprado that the supply is starting to dry up some but I think GP wants...
It will depend on what rims you get but I just measured the rims on my Humvee and H2. The HMMWV has Dick Cepek 17” steel wheels with 3 1/4” offset. The H2 has Ultra Motorsports 17” aluminum rims and measure 3 3/4” from hub to outside edge. I had trouble getting straight down pictures so the...
Ammonia is harmful to tinted windows. It turns the tint different colors. Lots of older tint jobs look purple from the ammonia. Most window cleaners are ammonia free anymore. I am pretty sure cleaners with ammonia won’t hurt regular glass. I have used rubbing compound and polishing compound to...
