If there is room to add an accessory....could you simply use two 12 volt alternators?....aside from the brackets-you can find the GM based alts really cheap....this would give you 26-28 volts charging and the tap ability to just get 13-14volts as well....not to mention off the shelf cheap...
I have used the yellow, red and blue tops for various toys. The blue and yellow are slightly better for winching and reserve high amp draw but I would chose the red over them all for 2 simple reasons:
They are cheaper
They have a 3 year non-prorated warranty-something goes wrong in that 3...
I am (semi) local in Gloucester Point. In my county-you need plates OR an inspection sticker. I have a 1 acre commercial property about 1 hour north of you if you have one you want to keep until you get it properly plated/titled/inspected. Sorry I do not have room for them all. may be...
AM General with 70k miles.....miles kind of scared me but a winch truck for $1500 including tax and GL fees I could not turn down. Will be my first Deuce recovery (in Richmond)-about 50 miles away. Hoping to bleed the brakes, add fresh batteries and top off fluids....cross your fingers for me...
I will add some caution and a weird story...
did this mod on my first CJ7 15 years ago and have a nice scar to prove it. 8 ball cracked at the stress from tapping: on new years eve when shifting a VERY cold transmission in northern NY. It sliced off the end of my right hand ring...

Make sure you do your research on backspacing before you guy buy a set...or know how to recenter wheels.
As mentioned-8 bolts are bias ply and 12 bolts are radial-do not mix them and make sure you run the...
My truck seems to be limited by the transmission temperature. Any extended driving past 70 MPH will cause a steady increase over 220 degrees. The engine is at around 3000 RPM and feels like it has more in her....

X2 on the additional grounding harness. You should have at least one running from battery ground to engine block, alternator bracket and PCB mount. I have had trucks blow through glow plugs with good new green KDS boxes because the system was not grounded correctly. Before you do anything...
I have bought and sold many Humvees in various condition. You do not want a $10,000 truck-I have bought them and they are a complete headache. I have seen decent running trucks under 20k (15k-18k) that needed TLC. I hate to be the bearer of bad news-but you will spend more time and money...
FYI: check with a good meter....every truck I have owned appears to read high on the dash gauge....slightly into the red. You will also get the pulse (as noted) from GP cycling- Sometimes up to a couple minutes depending on which control box you have.
