Retired from the hvac trade and use a hp air handler section for load testing. Have fan, three coils, 4kw, and two 5 kw. Also, have a breaker panel with 20a circuits to power 500w floods and 1500w electric space heaters. I am set for load testing a 003/004 if I could ever find one.... The...
White Post is one of those towns that you blink you will miss it. Come to think of it-the town isn't much bigger than the actual (white) post... :-)

10Lugger-We are just down the road from you on Warren/Page county border (340). We go through White Post several times a year while traveling to NJ.
Best of luck with your addiction-it's got us....

Bought 2 002's on trailer a year ago from New Castle. Then bought a single 002 from Meade. Sold one to a neighbor for what I paid for all three. One 002 hooked to house and one on trailer.

Amazon is a good source for filters. Good luck with your purchase. These things are pretty rugged. I started with 002's and stayed with them (3!).

Jerry,
I sold a 002 to a neighbor and it has a hard time starting his 3 ton heat pump. He has an all electric house and has to run basics only if he wants the heat pump or ac. Maybe candidate for a hard start kit. :-) To me, the generator is only for basics during a power outage. I am not...
Jerry,
Check out the link below. Gives a lot of information better than I can explain it. Also, Google "a/c hard start kit". I used them on 20, 30, and 40 amp service for heat pumps and a/c units. My 002 will start my 2 1/2 ton a/c with anything else on but the hot water heater or clothes...
ETN550-There is a hard start kit available for HP and AC units. Made for low line voltage/hard start units. Most Electrical and Refrigeration/AC supply houses have them in stock. They use a capacitor for an extra kick on start. Over the years, I have installed dozens of them.

One of my 002's is connected to the house and the other is on a trailer for "emergency response". We got 12" of the white stuff and spent most of the time plowing. Good to know the MEP's are ready and waiting (even though we may not need them for a few years). I keep trying to find uses for...
Isaac-1, I have the old style starters in both my 002's (style 1?). I was complimenting the batteries too. Had adequate reserve capacity for the job at a great price ($28.00 each).

added note-just got through checking the glow plugs last week. One of my 002 has the glow plugs that glow...
With 13 degrees (F) this am, I couldn't resist trying to start the 002. It sits outside under a large deck, so the cold soak is thorough. 30 seconds preheat and hit start. All I got was white smoke-preheat not long enough. 30 seconds more preheat and it took off with a clear exhaust after 10...
With the unit blowing oil, it needs to be taken apart to access the possible damage under the information provided. Running wide open for who knows how long leaves little confidence in the mechanicals.

jayco,
You would get a better response starting a new thread on this. Maybe a title of "dead fuel shutoff", or something similar. I would start with the TM diagrams and at the fuel shutoff and work back (just my way of troubleshooting-doesn't mean it works for everyone). YMMV

Your post---
"If both glow plugs are good, you are right, it sounds like one or both injectors out of adjustment. Can you get 125% out of the unit? If not, another pointer to the injectors".
125% for how long? One of my 002a's will run at 125%, but after 1/2 hour starts to lose speed...
