My 1994 H1 6.5 came with a block heater so should not be a problem to install. Worse case check with your local former Hummer dealer. Just tell them it is an H1.
OK, mine is M151A2 but we always called them a "jeep" when I was in the Army (1968-1977). Got the radiator fan shroud bracket resoldered on driver side. The shop also found a few small leaks and repaired them. All for $75.00!
The bumpers are fairly easy to find. I got mine before latest auction and the brackets were a challenge even then. I got some parts on ebay but had to go to Kascar for some. Be sure and order by part number. Brackets cost at least twice what bumper cost!
Don't know lower extremes but south Texas sun will destroy them over a period of years. I keep a plastic tarp over my trailer since it stationary. Cheap insurance considering replacement cost.
I really do not like to drill holes unless covered by a MWO. Having bought some vehicles where the previous owners did not care where they drilled was not a pleasant experience. I think it is a lot harder to repair a hole in a HMMWV than a steel vehicle. The rural fire people seem to really...
Agree. Just remember how it might have been done 30 years ago. I doubt that total disassembly was part of the plan. I was there but not in that area of vehicle repair.
Amazing job on the radio! Maybe you could post some of your methods on the radio restoration. There may be a thread already but this looks better than new!
I use dielectric grease on all connections. It prevents corrosion and makes it easier to connect/disconnect rubber plugs. I usually replace all old star washers.
I drilled and tapped 2 holes in the airlift bumper in the same location as on my H1. You could attach to mud flap. If you have a spare mounted you could attach to that. There are a lot of options. Also you could use magnetic mounts on bumper or near pintle. I did not want to drill holes...
That is what I did and got the idea from a thread here. The mini connector comes with wires attached so it is real easy to attach to your 24V charger. If you should ever actually slave to another vehicle be sure and review the TM before doing it.
I had an M38A1 years ago. I think you will find it fun and fairly easy to work on. I was never able to stop transfer from leaking. Probably needed a rebuild.
