The plywood in my M998 was redwood!. I replaced with good grade exterior and gave it 2 good coats of paint. Note the location of any welnuts so you can relace them. They are handy for holding ammo can racks, etc.
Replaced glass run and window seals on passenger side M1009. Second time but still took longer than I thought it would. Spraying lots of silicone on glass run does help with installation. Also found large mud dobber nest in door!
The later boxes are backwards compatible. I just changed mine last week. Do not use a box made by Lau Industries...they have been known to start on their own and have burned-up some HMMWVs!
Not quite the deal I thought. However $20.00 seats don't sound too bad if you can use them. I would gladly have paid that rather than prep and paint my old driver seat.
Sportsmans Guide dropped driver seats to $4.49 with, I think, free shipping! I know, who wants them. Wish they would get some of the more sought-after parts.
Completed installation of Nartron control unit and sensor. Worked fine: wait light came on, went off and started right up! Glow plugs no longer cycle 2-3 times after start-up. Guess I will keep old Prestilite box as a spare. My thanks to Retired war horses for advice.
