mixing will not solve the scalding issue if water is stopped. The water will continue to heat in the exchanger since the water is not moving....you will get a hot patch...now, the bypass idea, probably will work.

I agree on the shower. I have not yet put a shower inside, but I have the outside shower. I have plans to cut the floor and use the bed as the shower pan in the future. I just have not had the time yet to do it.
