    Deuce questions from PA

I didn't need the parking lights on with the headlights for PA inspection nor did I need back-up lights and a rear light bar. Don't have a license plate light either. A few other tid-bits that some say is needed. It passed inspection without these items. Don't appear to be required if they...

    Deuce questions from PA

I have mine registered commercialy at a class six. Inspection at that weight is only once a year. I can upgrade the weight rating at any time. I have commercial insurance through Ohio Casaulty (was peerless). I don't double clutch. Never needed to. Insurance is about 575/year I think. No...

    Turbo Swap

I'm thinking about the fuel rate. But, I have no idea how to do that. I'm mechanical, but not very knowledgeable.

    Turbo Swap

Good question. I inspected when purchsed and they looked "ok" but I never replaced them. Soooo, what you are telling me is that there is no sort of "rev limiter" that could have been added? Or would be normal for a truck with a "D" turbo? I can punch the "D" in 4 at 1500 RPMs and it pulls...

    Turbo Swap

I'm sorry, I did search, but my search abilities are pathetic. Can a "C" and "D" turbo be switched out without modification to connecting plumbing? Same connections, etc? I have a C and want to swap in a D that I have. I'm not parting with the C, but the truck the C is in, doesn't have a...

Loading / Unloading a small vehicle from a deuce...

I found some ramps I like at Discount Ramps and it seems like that might be a better way to go than a trailer for a skid steer or mini excavator. Question, how do you think the deuce will handle a skid steer/mini excavator in the bed? Too top heavy?

    "Great List" part II

Oh, I really shouldn't respond to this.... I have my plates for my legal trucks on dealer magnets (don't want to drill holes in my trucks for plates and want to be able to remove easily for parades, etc.). I got 6 magnets for trailers and trucks at Gallagher promotional supplies. Anyway, I...

    Trailer Advice

Thanks Mike. I don't necessarily need a military trailer. Anything will do. I guess I'm looking for someone who halls small construction equipment with a duece and how they do it. I've found trailers, but most in this weight range or capacity don't have air brakes. Most have electric and...

    Trailer Advice

I'm not really sure where this thread belongs, so feel free to move. I'm looking for advice on trailers to haul skid steers or mini-excavators. I don't have a CDL so am limited to around a 5 ton trailer. Are there makes/models in this weight range that have air brakes? I'm puzzeled as to...

new to 5 ton trucks need some advice

There are a bunch of these at the GL yard at Letterkenny. I suspect they'll show up on the site within a month or so. I was there when they were off-loading into DRMO lot about 2 months ago. Just an FYI

    M1009 Advice

Thanks guys. This helps greatly. Electrical problems? HA! I've owned Saabs and still have my original MGB and drive a Land Rover Discovery as an every day car. Talk about electrical problems.....

    M1009 Advice

The next addition to the fleet is maybe a M1009 Blazer. This would likely be for a daily driver. However, I know nothing about them. I've been searching, but the problems that I've found in threads, are all over the place and I can't get a sense if these things work well as a daily driver or...

    M151's at Chambersburg Today

Yes, to the sides of the M548s. There were three of them. In the first photo, look beyond the M548s. They had these weird "towers" on top on both sides that housed a metal sphere with protruding pipes. What are those?

    M151's at Chambersburg Today

They've been there for a long time. I have pictures of them somewhere. As well as the armor that was next to them. We actually got inside one of the APC's. This was right before christmas. I'm sure the DRMO guys saw us, but they didn't care. Don't have pictures of the inside of the armor...

    Deuce coming home.

There is a good thread at the top of the Deuce forum as a sticky about picking up a deuce. Lots of good tips and suggestions. Includes a good list of "stuff" to take. As for batteries. I just get two identical that have about 650 CCA or more. Last ones I bought came from Sam's club. Work...

    Bum Brakes

Bleeding in process, but seems as though I should get some pressure build up if the fluid is present. Right?

    GL Trouble

Wonder how much is DRMO creating lots and how much is GL. I tend to think DRMO creates the lots. GL doesn't buy the surplus from DRMO then maintains ownership until it's sold to us. They are just the auction house. So DRMO would then tell GL what to sell and what all is included. Not sure...
