Sorry about the duplication in posting.. but I am updating my swap.. the engine has been gone though, new rings gasket new valves and spring new injectors, the pump is to be updated with a new smoke screw. FYI end dyno out on a stand. 235hp 400ftlb @ 1800rpm. the pump mods are just for increase...
I put mine in the riser (pyro) about 3/4" below the turbo flange, to the outside for ease of wiring. the boost was install in the middle of plentellum probely not the best spot
I have heard they be back.. they have to be I recently saw the most hideous Cadi Yukon thing done up for Mary Kay.. it was hybrid it only was rated @ 22mpg highway.
dude I would wait for 4.5 d-max they have smaller foot print and the cylinder banks are at stepper v for placement in the 1/2 & 3/4 GMT 900 seris trucks. turbo is mid mount similar to hummvee set up, with exhaust manifold in valley and the intake is on the out board.. beside who want another...
I think I am good with what intend, thanks for explaining though. However I am within the power weight constriants that I am in now. 6.2 turbo with 6.5 pump & heads ect, figure in about or around 180 hp. the 4bt is about 150 hp with 100 lb less. I am doing this for daily driver and reliablty...
All I know that the "GM" dana44 ended in in 70s and they produced a more less clone. I am curious why don't think these would hold up ? the 4bt is in the share a similar power band as 6.2 IDI if not a little less.
NV4500 bolts in older style gm can be had for about for about 400 bucks or so mostly I would find one that has blown 6.5 diesel in front of it. that way you get the flywheel/clutch and starter.
Mine was 2 wd and bought the parts for the swap to 4wd, I have about 1000 buck into it all.. it made...
Dude your 6.2 motor is an IDI diesel.. they make twice the than that of your cummins. also it is automatic tranny that is smoking hot when the truck is run at 2600 rpm ect..
they are 12 bolt and the corporate dana 44 clone out of 3/4 ton k25 the 4bt is 100 lighter then 6.2. sorry if I misled anyone I wll post up some pics when I go home April 2nd
My next move is figure out motor mounts and placement and the availibility of ODave and his phone plan
All right it has started.. The engine at buddys getting the 150hp treatment .. the 3/4 ton burban axle are at the shop being freshing up, bearing seals ect... my check book has taken a beating with all parts.
So the plan is this:
4bt with 700r4 on 3:73 axles 285r16 rims
I had 3 rebuilt last Oct. worth every penny. Apparently the Rods have issue took 4 engines to get enough for 2 engine the 3 were knew, and it took 10 to get eight..
check the cross member under the raditator, the valve dose go bad, however it is rare. Most of time the the valve is just crapped up from mixing DOT fuilds. Its my opinion, that the system needs a flush and adjustment. Note the valve"new" is about the only thing on truck that is really hard to find.
