david doyle nonturbo question
david, the info I added re: kaiser jeep thread is a non-turbo from 1970, motor date code seems all 1970 original and N/A.

vin numbers kaiser jeep
david, I own a 1970 M35A2 w/ow built by Kaiser Jeep. I don't have the VIN readily available, but will dig it out for this.
BTW, this truck has "flat" front turn signal guards that are unlike most I have seen...most are "curved" guards. Maybe this is a characteristic of...
most important military aircraft
this almost becomes a "my favorite aircraft" exercise pretty quickly....
I'm thinking C-17 especially after watching them depart Charleston's AFB all day last week....willing to bet these fat boys hold lots of crackers, cheese, and Humvees for the sand box.....
5-ton p/s for deuce
To me, it sounds very do-able to modify a deuce for later-style 5-ton p/s with hydraulic pump. If one person has been successful with it, there must be more!
I'm going to email Ollie Davis and find out what the details are....
Nobody here's done such a thing?
I like how...
Some more pix from Winslow's place
Have some more pix I took at John's from last week. Lots of neat stuff...shelters, tractors, wreckers, CUCV's, bobjobs, tons of stuff.....
I am partial to the farm tractors.....
When I was jawing with John Winslow and Ollie Davis, the topic of power steering conversions and deuces came up.
Ollie or John had knowledge of people who had successfully swapped in 5-ton p/s with some fabrication. Has anybody on this board any experience or ideas on this subject? I know that...
Ski had a job in Charleston, SC recently which required some additional military vehicles, as well as John Winslow's & Ollie Davis' assistance. So, we drove down to Halifax NC (actually, Scotlandneck) and hooked up with John on the way down to Charleston.
I took some pics of John's place, which...
locker conversation
I remember a rust bucket Scout II I bought as parts truck for the driver Scout that I was using. Had a Pow'R-Lok front diff, and a Pow'R-Lok rear diff, from the factory. Of course, these were not as aggressive as Detroit Lockers...but just the same, it was a nice combo...not...
Are any of you guys going the extra step, and running wvo or bio-blend in your diesel gensets?
Get a decent sized bio/wvo processing setup in a garage or barn, and it would really pay off for all the diesel-powered equipment on a farm or self-sufficent homestead.
All the stuff you use on a...
Mangus, SS, there's been a prob lately since the last upgrade.....when one goes to search the member list, one cannot search more than either the "first" or the "last" page, no matter what query one tries to use....I had no success in any of the formats: by date, member, top 10 posts...
On the subject of the late 60's/early 70's style wooden roof bows and steel corners....all my uprights are rotted/broken, as are the bows.
Should I just try and keep the metal corners, and cut my own wood?
Also, what sort of wood is recommended?
Just looking to save on buying a new/ TO set of...
are there diesel mil gensets available that are in the 3-5kw output range, that are good/popular/available/reasonable?
or is a civilian model more applicable in a smaller size range like this?
recommendations appreciated.....thx
Adam
Have any SS members "gone green" and converted to full WVO, or use a bio blend?
Wondering how the FI pumps hold up, what sort of dual tank setups are being used, and so forth.
TIA
Adam
