i like the idea from the cool factor but it seems less than useful for most of us. as it is there is a ton of weight over the front axle and not much over the back, my lawn is proof of this. airing down is more than enough for most of us unless your loaded to the max. steering would likely...
mine will start with the throttle wide open, takes a bit and runs like crap until it starts to warm up. either makes no difference, i get pressure at the bleed screw on top of the secondaries and my lift pump is fine but im gonna replace the filters and see if it helps. it honestly starts and...
well today i got around to checking pressure all around, went to the gas station (no compressor at my apt yet) and after spending $3 to check and top off just the fronts and one tandem i made a run to autozone to get the parts to make my own glad hand air line ($30 in all).
they where all a...
I'm having a real hard time getting mine to kick over below 33 degrees. it will crank and sputter then die. once it does stay running on its own it misfires like crazy until it warms up a bit. if the engine is warm and on days above 40 its just press the button and fires right up.
that's a really nice truck, im not a purest but if it where mine id leave it just the way it is. my truck is in need of a new bed and showing signs of wear in the rear suspension so i consider mine to be a good candidate for a bob. find a good running project truck and bob that.
drive it and...
the paint on my deuce is faded and chipped, id like it to look nice (not perfect). i have to paint a cj5 as well so im gonna order up some rapco.
how much paint do i need to cover the deuce? assume one solid color, one good coat. not doing a frame up resto so body panels and interior as well...
its gonna fail if you really had to have it up to present day standards, i dont know about cali but ny will exempt it. if you do go run 50/50 WMO/Diesel, that would be fun...
whats the best way to check them aside from removing and inspecting each? just pry bar and watch for play?
also, the weight of the winch on the front def exacerbated the problem. the wheel does shake but not until the truck is bouncing bad. if it was front end (wheels, bearings, tie-rods, ect)...
I'll give em another look everything was good a few days ago and I haven't been looseing pressure.
Brings up another question. I've been running 50psi all around for highway use as stenciled on the truck. I know a few peole have played with this, any recommendations? No loads to speak of and...
about a week ago i was on my way home from work and the back end of the truck started hoping around on me, every time i let off the gas and slowed down a bit it went away, i would accelerate and hold speed and after a min or two it would come back. i chalked it up to road surface as Ive had that...
Given the choice I would take a deuce with air brakes over any deuce with single circuit brakes, for that matter I'd much rather the truck stopped dead and stuck than not being able to stop 7 tons or steel. I do daily inspections of my brakes for just that reason.
Even with the redundancies in...
my thoughts as ive considered doing the same
1. once turned around the input shaft would be on the right side and this opposite the transmission pto (left side). (dont know much about the transfer case pto)
2. mounting the winch upside down looks to be a bad idea from the perspective of the...
hahaha thank you, fingers crossed that the lines just need replacing. sorry so much at once but i didn't wanna clutter to forum with a bunch of separate posts.
anyone put a catch can on the tube? a lot of tuners and higher performance cars and trucks use them on engine vents and what have you...
