finally got the winch back on my truck and with only minor complications. while i had the tools out i went about checking things over and here is where im at:
the input seal on the winch is leaking kinda bad all of a sudden, wasn't before and i didn't open that side at all. strange but it was...
don't be surprised if you get a little bit of run around, DMV is a starting point and inevitably the ending point but read and print everything, every law and code, your told either way. youll prob need to explain it over and over, your a strange person asking strange questions on unfamiliar...
maybe not, id take a look at PA DMV and DOT sites. i know that the vehicle being more than 25 years old would qualify for either classic or antique registration. given the restrictions from the little i read id suggest classic.
i had a conversation with a fellow member a while back and i...
i started doing just that and stopped when the bold heads began to mushroom. the **** dog clutch leaver gets in the way when i try and rotate. maybe ill give it another go. just hard when everyone is whimpering about how much it weighs.
wow like the auto censor but i didn't even consider that...
i hadn't considered that, i didn't wanna have to but its the best solution i have as of yet. i just feel like if it Came out it should go back. hopefully there is still a simpler way, i cant have been the only one with this problem

looks right to me. the chain isn't as long as I'd have liked it to be tho, ideally you dont want the hook on the wire (somthing about kinks and weakening ect) but most trees big enough to provide the needed support are too big.
there is no doubt that this is a garwood 10k but it seems a bit "off". the data plate doesn't look like ive seen before and the drum lock lever is diff as well. anyone wanna elaborate?
and i am by no means an expert, i only have one myself but have seen many pictures. just curious is all.
had a problem with headlights blowing on an old jeep, ended up the voltage regulator. prob more likely a short as suggested above but keep that in mind if you cant find a short.
i guess i didnt look at the first post from the perspective of "Why Not?". def a mistake on my part given that this is a group of people who's common interest is former military vehicles... practicality need not apply. rofl
