The A3 master/booster is incompatible with the clutch pedal and PTO of the A2.
Your "easiest" bet is to source the parts from the later "airforce deuce" that had a split system using a different master, twin airpaks and a special bracket to mount it all without interfering with the clutch pedal...
Not to hijack a thread, but; Can anyone tell me if these thermostats commonly fail open? My M109 gets up to temp nicely, but my M35 takes a long time for the needle to start moving, and never gets above about 1/3 of sweep, or less than 160°F.
Any thoughts on that?
That engine is used extensively in the ThermoKing reefer units.
An automotive adaptation (C223) was also used in the Isuzu Pup and Chevy luv trucks from the 80's. The differences are just enough that the reefer engines are a pain to mount in a truck, but there are many common parts between...
There are a number of things to look for. Rough idle, excessive smoke, missing when accelerating.
Once you you are fairly certain that's your issue, you can check the temperature of the exhaust manifold right near the head with an infrared temp gun. Check each cylinder's exhaust before the...
That would basically amount to a "cold solder" joint since you would not be sufficiently heating the substrate metal (lead post). The bond between your solder filler and the lead would be very weak. This fix would be "cosmetic" at best.
Leaking injector is a possibility, but you'd probably notice the miss at idle.
Sounds like you need to come get this m109 so you can keep trucking while you figure that out :driver:
The way they design gear sets, they give them oddball ratios so the same tooth on a primary gear isn't repeatedly meshing the same teeth on its mate every few revolutions.
What that means is, if you have a chipped or badly formed tooth on one gear, rather than wallowing out a few spots on it's...
I need to adopt this method.
I found out the hard way that, when going up a steep hill, by the time you try to shift from 1H to 2H, the truck has almost stopped.
My grandfather had some rock blasted near his house a LONG time ago. He hired a buddy that just happened to be the best guy in the area.
His neighbor came over in a panic after hearing the first couple charges go off. He was absolutely convinced that his house would be damaged, despite being...
