:arrow:I used the Wellman 070's from INDUSA dist, did a bypass of the resistors and installed a new GPR. If you are going to be slave cabled or slave cable someone else you should have the resistors. I figured I will use jumper cable(s) I have absolutely no use for a slave cable, and why risk...
Could be the gp control card? Pull out easy like and check for leaks or most common a broken burn spot. That's usually the ground (light blue wire on gp relay. You can try to fix your card or put a momentary switch in the dash, ground to the dash to complete the ground to activate gp's. My...

Some use Power Service/Howes antigel additive and injector cleaner available at Walmart and Tractor Supply Company TSC. Some use a block heater 41 mm in one of the first 2 freeze plug holes on drivers side OR a inline - coolant heater, bottom hose - of the Radiator. I like the Coolant heater but...

:arrow:Are both your gen 1 and gen 2 indicator lights lighting up when you turn your key on? If no, wiggle the bulb holder in the back of the dash or replace a bulbs if burned out.
Good that the Cold start solenoid kicked back, that means the engine temp went up so it no longer needed to fast...
I had to replace the crank regulator, then I put a new lock cylinder in there, the pieces I got from a chevy dealer: spring, cam actuator - small foot looking thing. :idea:Remember if you have valuables in there get a lock in that crank and use it. My cousins tailgate was catching on the way...
:grd: YES agreed just replace the feed lift pump, make sure to have the push rod in the right place with some axle grease. I paid 15.00 for mine from Advance Auto Parts 2 years ago.
By the way it takes 1 hour to take off and replace with a new one. Easy Job.
First get that throttle controlled, Check throttle control spring, check your throttle cable and pedal. You may have to replace cable? You believe it sat a while so check for fuel leaking at throttle shaft. There is o rings there that are prone to leaking. Work the cold advance solenoid (plunger)...
Ended up being the Resistors, in the Resistor Bank, mounted on the firewall behind the Air Cleaner. Dad tested when I turned the key on and 24 volts was comming out going to Glow Plug Relay those frying 2 sets of glow plugs. I moved the wire from the resistors up to the diamond shaped 12volt...
fuel lift pump or "feed pump" was 15.00 at Advance auto parts when I bought one a couple years back. I told the counter for a vin J engine, I don't think it mattered though?
I don't have a multi meter, my father will read the posts you guys have made and check it all out. I took the glow plug relay off from a good running cucv and put on mine, no difference. I tried my gp relay on the good running cucv that was cold and it fired up normal so that ruled out my old...
I've heard from a few fellas
that you shouldn't cycle these glow plugs on this type of set up.
I know when you have good glow plugs only one cycle is needed,
one shot one kill?
Good to know and thanks - I did notice the connectors seem to slide on easy and one connector is pretty oily,
from a past leak I would guess from the valve cover.
I bet it's the resistor block behind the air cleaner housing!
I'll have to check the ohm's at GP's and maybe I'll have to move...
Thanks Westech
Checked all wires, Checked GP Relay You must mean the Resistor Hmmmm
I replaced all the fuses when I got it because well heck they looked 25 years old so for 3.00 I figured why not, I replaced all the bulbs in the dash and exterior lighting as well for less than 50.00, again I...
