one other issue with radials on side-hills is their willingness to flex sideways. keeping the pressure up alleviates this problem, but also reduces flotation. Bias tire belting helps to prevent the sideways flexing (part of the reason they can be difficult to mount) so low pressures on...

in my limited experience, the MF engine can put up with quite a bit of water in the fuel too, especially if there's some gasoline + ethanol in the tank. Try that with a cummins :)
As doghead said, pushing the starter button a few times can do the trick. after a while, the solenoid gets damaged from the arcing during starting, and has a hard time conducting electricity.
i'm glad this thread came back to the top, because my pump motor is about to quit (getting the grinding brush noise), and i'd like to replace it with a stocker because the type of impeller it has looks like it could pump darn near anything.

The adapters you are looking for are called "spin on filter kits". There are numerous sources for them on here, just do a search for the above.
Agreed on #2 with one caveat: if you add a turbo, it allows you to increase the amount of fuel you can put into the motor, which adds power.
