    My Newly Aquired CUCV

I was going to try an get it back to looking original, but since it will be my daily driver seat and suspension upgrades are a thought (especially since the front springs have what appears to be a serious negative arch). Also looking for a set of original steel wheels, though I may have sourced...

    My Newly Aquired CUCV

Well started digging into the rocker panel/floor board rust today. Using some Aircraft stripper to remove the rhino liner, found a bit more rust than I was hoping, for, though I don't think it not beyond repairable. Gotta do some repairs to the M16 mounts too :-( Fumes are pretty intense with...

Reworking Deuce spring seat into an air ride seat.

Ok, thanks. Guess I was over thinking it based on past experience with using air bags on suspension systems.

5-ton Crew Cab killing em at car shows already!

Looks great Matt! Too bad you didn't keep the deuce so you could do a side by side shot of the two....

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Bought mine and had it towed home last Friday. Did the fuel filter upgrade, replaced the GP relay and glow plugs and she fired right up! Now for the fun parts...repairing the rusted pillars, rocker panels, floor pans and rear section of each door.

M1009 rust remediation time (take 2)

Looking good so far, and thanks for the detailed pics as I have pretty much the same weld repairs to do. Never heard of the Eastwood Rust Encapsulator...gotta get some of that!

    Where is the GP Controller?

You could start with that, but I'd go for lower hanging fruit like air in the fuel, glow plug relay then glow plugs. Took me a few hours to get mine running and it turned out to ultimately be the glow plugs. (had to upgrade the fuel filter regardless and changed the relay just be certain)...

Reworking Deuce spring seat into an air ride seat.

Looks great! Where are you mounting the fill and dump valves to control bag pressure, and are you installing a pressure gauge?

    My Newly Aquired CUCV

Well installed 7 new AC 60g glow plugs today and decided I'd see if she'd start. Turned the ignition, waited for the light to go out and she fired right up! Let it idle, checked for leaks from the fuel filter mod then drive her around the block. Tranny shifts good and brakes are tight. I'll...

    My Newly Aquired CUCV

Ok, the old relay seems fine, but I changed it out anyways. 12v on top constant, 12v on orange and pink when ignition is on, then about 30 seconds later the relay clicks and orange goes to no voltage and the blue wire goes to 12v. Also checked 7 of the 8 glow plugs. Glow plugs are all AC 13G...

    My Newly Aquired CUCV

Well got the fuel filter mod completed. Purged per the TM, reconnected pink wire and all she does is turn over. Batteries were charged and tested good. Glow plug relay does "click" when the ignition key is turned on. It appears that at some point the glow plug resistor bypass mod had been...
