My Newly Aquired CUCV rebuild thread
She's a bit rough. Former military that was sold to a nearby police department before being sold to the guy I bought it from. This will be my next project after the crew cab is completed (with hopes to make it my daily driver)
The bad: Rusted out rocker...
Very, very nice! I'm picking up a M1009 this weekend that will need quite a bit of restoration, and I can only hope it comes out looking nearly as good as this one!
Well finally got a weekend to work on her again. In preparation for putting the bed back on, I had previously degreased and pressure washed the rear section of the frame. Yesterday I scraped any big flakes off, hit the entire thing with Ospho then primed it. Also sanded the back section and...
That is one awesome looking rig you got there Wally!
As for posting in the classifieds, you should be able to just go to the Classifieds section and start a new thread under Vehicles for Sale listing it.
Good luck!
This was covered extensively already. Something about the bell housing not being compatible and there is no aftermarket adapters.

I've seen a couple dueces painted grey, and had contemplated doing this to mine as well. However, I'm opting not to at the moment and just going with od green. But hey, its your deuce to do with what you like.
I do seem to recalling though only seeing green or camo deuces when I was active duty
$200 is exactly half of what I paid for mine. Bought mine locally in Jacksonville from a guy that is buying and parting out A3's for a larger 8 wheel drive project. He might still have some left...he advertises on Craigslist and a certain auction site...
Thanks for the pics. Unfortunately I don't have a second frame to play with, so extending mine and moving the axles would be the way to go for me IF I decide not to just cut it down to 9 feet. Certainly though for what I am wanting to do the bigger the bed the better. Still have time to...
Well got the side window panels 90% done today. Only a few minor things left to do to her and all the cab work will be done....minus putting in the seating. That however will come after the entire interior and exterior are painted. Then it's on to the bed...
The kids spring break starts...
I sold 8 of mine to a guy that was going to modify them for use to trailer his monster truck. So yes there is a market. Might even be guys looking for them for their trailers or replacements for their currents tires. take some pics and post them on Craigslist and see what happens.
Looks like you are off to a great start! The LED lights are a great addition. I used them in my house for recessed lighting above my bar and they pump out tons of light!
Once I'm done with my crew cab project I have plans to build a custom box/camper on the back of her. Part of those plans...
That was a thought, and it would certainly be easier to do it now than later after the bed is back on. Was yours moved and the frame extended or ???
Comparing lengths from the prints in the TM's, the M35 carries about 40" of bed past the center or the rear tire, whereas the M36 has about 70"...
You have a point there. Perhaps it would only matter if I was taking it off road and climbing steep embankments. Guess it still warrants consideration. And yeah, snow country, I remember what that was like being living there....
