Share pics on that turbo 6.5 install; I'm curious to know if the sidemount turbo clears the passenger side inner fender. :)
I'm getting back into my M37 project here soon & working on the 6.X engine mount now -

Marshall Engines are crap... :-|
There. Now that this is out of the way, let's move on.
I'd recommend going over to some of the 6.X diesel-specific sites for the best answers. The 6.2 blocks have more 'meat' around the bores (obviously due to the smaller displacement vs 6.5), and the late...
And if you'll dig further into the SAE engineering standards used in determining these tow/haul capacities, they usually state that the towing and hauling weights are factored with one 200~ish pound driver in cab & no other people, cargo, or equipment on-board.
But how many pipe rack equipped...
It could have been a plated steel vs non-plated steel, or a different alloying of the steels used between the M37 & M37B1 variants, but has ANYONE actually taken the time to have a metal composition analysis done?
Not that I'm aware of -
Buy it... fix it... drive it!

If you break the 6.2 engine, they're cheap & you'll get good at swapping it out... I'd recommend keeping it under 70mph, with under 65mph sustained being preferable. When 6.x engines grenade, it's usually with an abrupt *bang*; seldom do they start letting you know that they're headed towards...
I don't believe that the M101Ax was designed for dumping; I recall as well that the reason for the folding tongue was ONLY for transport purposes...
Doesn't mean that people won't use them for a dump trailer, though...

... I find that many CUCV owners tend to think that the CUCV is grossly different from a Civilian K-Series.
Nope. Other than a 24-volt hybrid/Rube Goldberg electrical system & some camo paint, they're pretty much the same...

Unless you have the tools & gauges to properly setup the gears for proper tooth contact, mesh, bearing tolerances, and backlash, I wouldn't advise that you try tackling it... changing the ring & pinion gears is not a simple R&R operation.

There are still quite a few of them out there, but I tend to see the earlier non-B1 trucks for sale more often...
My M37B1 was pulled from a 25+ year storage in a barn in South Carolina -

All Cummins 4BT into M37 swaps will be custom... deciding factors will be what bell housing & trans you use, power-assisted steering or no pwr assist, are you building a truck w/ winch or without, etc...
No one I know of makes a bolt-in set of mounts due to the numerous variables on installing...
Mount design & location will depend on the transmission combo you use behind the 4BT -
Cabell Garbee here in Raleigh, NC has some info/pictures on his website...
Engine Mounts
Note also that M-Series Rebuild/Charles Talbert's 4BT installations often use the Spicer 3053A Deuce transmission...
The water/oil cooled turbos have been installed on a whole SLEW of cars/trucks since the Eighties...
Pontiac Sunbird/J2000/Buick Skyhawk
Various SAAB's... (R.I.P.)
Chrysler 2.2/2.5 engine equipped cars/minivans
Volkswagen/Audi cars with 1.8T/2.7T engines
etc... etc... etc...

The real shame is that existing foreign aircraft will hand the F-35 it's balls back in a sack... reports coming in from testing tell tales of the JSF being a flying piece of trash -
Wish it were different, but the reports aren't positive. But it looks cool...
