Suggestion to improve Classified ad searches

1-more adds per page (the server is very slow when clicking new pages) 2-subsections for MV trucks, trailers, civilian trucks, & misc. 3-photos only section (or search function) 4-longer idle time before being logged out (general website) 5-location of item on thumbnail listing 6-separate...

    Xenon Headlight Conversion

What you have cited are the physical aiming of the headlights. In other words, you can't point them "up" to see further down the road. I am referring to the Dept. of Transportation (federal) regulations with respect to illumination. Federal DOT regulations only recognize factory installed HID...

    Xenon Headlight Conversion

Just to let you know (I looked into this THOROUGHLY after driving the Deuce home 18 hours with pathetically dim headlights), the maximum wattage headlights can legally be is 55 watts. Would Johnny Law be able to tell the difference between 55 & 75 watts? I don't know. Personally, I'd rather...

    Xenon Headlight Conversion

HID lights are only DOT legal if they were original equipment installed at the factory. All, and I mean ALL, HID conversion kits are illegal for street use in the United States. Some municipalities are stricter than others when it comes to enforcing HID laws. That's why HID kits are all over...

    Wolverine Tech Duel Alts

Wolverine sells a quality kit. The instructions are slim to none. I spent hours scratching my head ... square peg round hole kind of stuff w/o instructions. I ended up putting it on my own way. I don't think it's the way Wolverine intended, but it works good. The kit works great. Call the...

M35 (and other MV) Roadside Assistance list

Might I also suggest: 1-Keep general surfing free 2-Offer an optional "premium" membership to the site for a reasonable fee, say $12 per year ( $1 per month) that would specifically include an "informal" roadside assistance network. Only allow paid members to click the special "Help Me" icon...

M35 (and other MV) Roadside Assistance list

Wouldn't the moderators be the most logical contact? After all, they surf the website daily. There would not even be a need for a list. When an MV owner needs help they could PM one of the mods. The mod could then send out a "blanket" notification to all SS website members. Since PM's also...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

As far as I know the boosters are the same. The master cylinders have different diameter outlets depending on the application. I believe the master cylinder throw is the same in all applications. I was going to just bite the bullet & go to a GM dealership to obtain it. It would be $$$ but I...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

I was going to do this, but I've since had a "design change" in what I hope to accomplish with the Deuce. Originally I was going to put a Kodiak7500 Hydromax system on (from a tandem axle truck) 6x4 But now I have a crazy hair up my back side that I want to research first. I do a lot of...

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

Jesus, GM originally had a dual power steering/hydromax pump. But it had problems of losing braking power on full steering deflection. Imagine going downhill, offroad, with a tight hairpin turn & limited brakes because all the pressure is going to the steering. So they switched over to a...

Lincoln Mark VII Versus two deuces

I found it very informative. Here's what I learned: 1. Any of the larger Deuces w/ larger tires &/or lift kits should really consider lowering their bumper height for the safety of other motorists. 2. The stock front articulation, while not bad, is nowhere nearly as impressive as the rear...

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

Jesus, If you are absolutely heck-bent on full hydro, but still want fail-proof redundancy, why don't you use concentric cylindrical tubes for the steering shaft from the steering wheel to the gear box. The inner shaft is separated from the outer shaft by grease-able bearings for smooth...

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

How about two steering wheels, one manual & the other hydraulic. Put one of them on the passenger side. That way when the wife starts to back-seat-drive you can just let go of the wheel, fold your arms, and tell her to drive.

46 vs 53 inch tires on a bobbed deuce?

Well, you picked the best time to decide ... before remounting/modifying the spring hangers. 53's are absolute monsters. I think they might even be re-gooveable, but I'm not sure. I hope you are going to do a lift when you bob it. Are the 46's also xzl? You should post pics of the two sizes...

    Deuce question...

Get an old piece of carpet or plastic. Drive onto it slowly until the front wheels are centered on it. Engage the front axle. Put it in low & gas it. If the fronts are engaged the carpet/plastic will spit out the back side of the tires. If it is not engaged it will simply roll off. You...

    Hauling a deuce frame.

Doghead has a good suggestion on hanging it off the passenger side. I'm not sure how far you are driving, but you could remove your hard top at home, drive to pick up the frame, lower your passenger windshield, drop the new frame onto the passenger side of the bed sticking out through the...

    do i need a cdl for a 5 ton?

Short answer: Yes. Take a CDL class if you want a 5 ton. You want to utilize the entire GVWR of the vehicle & don't want to have to pick-n-choose what model to buy. You can't park 5 tons in many residential neighborhoods. They are above the GVWR limits for many cities.
