As long as the holes for the lug nuts are countersunk on both sides I don't see why it won't work. That's how they do it on the five tons. I like the looks of the rear rims being deep dish out anyhow. :)

IIRC the stock motor has a standard SAE bellhousing (think it's a #3 but not 100% sure) so getting an auto trans to bolt up shouldn't be a problem. The trick is going to be in the torque converter. You will need to find a flex plate that bolts to the crankshaft of the stock deuce engine. The...
Well, we now know where it's at. The next question is where's it going (north, south, or west)? This is why I hate it when people only put the state in their location as it makes it hard to tell where they need the help at. Anyhow, I have a truck with a pintle hitch and may be able to help tow...
I'm in the process of putting my semi truck back together. Was just out putting the fan clutch back together and hope to have it up and on the road this weekend. If you can find a place to stash it for a week or two I should be able to give you a hand. I have a pintle hitch on the back but do...
I was just trying to consolidate my videos from the other thread in to this one, honest. :D But now that you have me thinking of your truck again here's a couple of pictures I haven't posted yet. :)

Interesting link, thanks. My main concern would be the bead area. I would ask them if the bead area is for 20" civilian truck tires or if it would work with the military surplus tires. The only other issue is how it looks. If you don't care for a military look to the wheels it might be an...
Welcome to the site. Nice to see another member in Florida join the fun. :)
As far as the rims are the ones Eaton sells a split rim? Also, do you have a link to them? I tried using Google but had no luck. At least with the HEMTT rims they bolt together and it makes it easier to change a tire...
Here are some videos of the Goat. The first 3 videos are related to pic #1 and show the Goat down in a hole. The 4th video shows the Goat powering through a different spot in the trail. Videos (in order) are 34 megs, 20 megs, 18 megs, and 31 megs...
Correct, but you sure were in the mud hole in the two videos at the links below. Warning, they are not small files. The first mpeg is 27 megs and is 21 seconds long. The second video is 82 megs and 62 seconds in duration.

Do you have antique or regular pickup plates? IIRC antique plates shouldn't have a GVW on them. Not sure about pickup plates.
The military fifth wheel is taller then civilian type fifth wheels because they can pivot two ways, side to side and front to back. Civilian fifth wheels can only...
Sorry, speaking in plain English is a foreign language to me. So is typing. :)
Man, I thought California was F'd up. That's the dumbest formula I've ever seen a state use instead of a manufacture's data plate.
As far as the G in GVW it should mean Gross, as in total weight. Don't know how...
Does it ask for GVW or GVWR? Odds are they are asking GVW which is different then GVWR. If they are asking for GVW then what they want to know is the total amount of weight that you want to haul. This can be more or less then GVWR. This is how much weight you can have if you cross a scale and is...
Are you going back home via I-75 or I-95? If you will be going down I-75 I can give you my phone number in case you have any problems. Just send me a PM if you are interested in my phone number just in case.
Good luck with the recovery.

Well, it took me the last two days of fighting paperwork but I just got back from DMV with Florida plates for my semi truck. I was trying to get the plates so I could drive it up to the Richloam area Saturday. The bummer is I still have a couple of items to take care of and when I was driving it...
That's the trick, you couldn't. Not without getting me in trouble. The Feds see that a compensation and it would take me from being a private person with a big truck to being a fully commercial trucker and I would have to get DOT numbers, inspections, log book, and med card (just to name the...
Man, you really must have hit the hard stuff early tonight. Watch out, don't drink too much of that stuff. Either that or someone is whispering lies about me in your ear.
Give me a swig of that rot gut you're drinking Saturday and I'll tell you. Not that there's anything fancy about...
No, I'm not a commercial hauler. The semi truck I have (the one in my avatar) is my play toy. It's a 1974 IHC Transtar with a SC 350 Cummins. Plus a couple of weeks ago I picked up a 1965 drop deck trailer to go with it. The only reason I spoke up on this thread was because you mentioned a...
