Crushing a Car with a Deuce.

So in other words, you're saying two wrongs make a right.

Crushing a Car with a Deuce.

It's not just the truck. It's society. My personal pieve is when skateboarders break arms & legs doing stupid stunts, then go to the emergency room because their parents have good insurance. That $12,000 medical bill makes MY insurance premiums go up. Name any facet of society & you will...

    Epic Tire Failure

My guess is they were dismounted improperly from the previous vehicle, with a forklift or highlift jack which weakened that part of the sidewall. Who knows what the history is when it comes to surplus tires. What's the white spray paint for?

Crushing a Car with a Deuce.

I liked the videos. Not because of the cars being crushed. But because every time I see the insane amount of rear axle articulation on the Deuce I'm in disbelief. I didn't even notice the Corvair, only the articulation that would make many a rockcrawler envious.

    Bobbed w/53's w/m105 lots-o-pics

That's cool. It's your truck. I keep forgetting that bobbed trucks don't articulate as much as tandem-axle ones. I must say that I enjoy seeing the tire size in relation to the truck. I'd love to see someone put 49's on a truck to put it half way between 395's and 53's.

    Bobbed w/53's w/m105 lots-o-pics

Mudguppy is right. With those tall of tires it needs a lift kit. There was one bobbed guy here who recently did a fantastic looking lift & 53's. The truck looked awesome & in proper dimensions aesthetically. It really made all the difference in the looks + added substantial ground clearance...

    How does it work

So what happens if nobody bids? Do you get a truck for $150? That's a great deal, even for a nonfunctioning truck. Surely people buy them to part them out right? Will they let you tow something like a Deuce off the auction site with another Deuce? I've also wondered why everything from...

need lots of advice on welders and welding

Why not take a MIG class at the local Community College? You could learn how to weld & most probably the instructor would let you "practice" on those sheet metal repairs to your truck. Before I owned a welder that's what I did. The instructor let me weld up transmission & transfer case mounts...

What a Deuce is made for, Especially a bobbed one.

 Man, are you expecting compliments for that? My twinkie's hiding behind my berries for that one. You could have given it SOME gas, don't you think? I can do that good in a Pinto.

    M101A2 violent braking!

Nevermind, I thought it was a 105A2 If the 101 has surge brakes then check the orifice in the master cylinder.

    M101A2 violent braking!

That's assuming the A2 trailer has surge brakes. As far as I know it's air activated hydraulics. But, if they are surge brakes then the jerking motion could be do to the orifice constrictor within the master cylinder. If somebody rebuilt the master cylinder & forgot to put the orifice back...

converting 24v truck to 12v trailer

All this accomplishes is making a higher amperage 24 volt system (you've basically doubled the amperage of each 12 volt battery by adding a 2nd one in parallel). You would have the same result by replacing the 2 existing batteries with larger batteries. Once you start tapping off of one of the...

12v, 24v alternator, batteries, cutoff switch, fuse box, & wiper install w/pics

Update, The battery cutoff switches work great. I've let the truck sit for weeks without any problems of dead batteries. I have to be careful not to leave the headlights on though. Even with the cutoffs "off" there is a complete circuit from the 24 volt batteries through the 12 volt...

Trying to get a title for my truck. ARG!!!

Go through a title company. It might cost a few hundred bucks. But they'll find some clever way of getting you a legal VIN & title from the DMV.

CARC paint;how to remove-yet another question...

If you have a CARC painted vehicle & want to do some welding on it, how far from the weld do you remove the CARC? Also, some people say cured CARC will give off toxic fumes when heated. Are heat areas around the engine/exhaust releasing fumes? This guy says anything above 400 degrees is...

Why the Deuce Doesn't Have These I'll Never Know!

I think bio-diesel hippie makes some points. A central-mounted winch with rollers going both front and back does sound logical. And ARB lockers all around sounds good as well. I'll pass on the transit-central-&-south-america-alone thing though. Let Exxon or BP hype bio-diesel. I'll take...
