Fuel Gauge, parking brake light and high idle were all intermittent today. Looks like a loose wire/bad connection somewhere in common.
Time to go gremlin hunting

Thanks 781 but I wish it was that simple. The pigtail that feeds the panel is dead at that connection that goes to those points.
Hoping someone can tell me or show me a diagram of where the dash pigtail wires go. Ive found one on here but I swear its written in code.

On the other...
Forgot to add it I guess since ive been at it ad nauseam.
All grounds I could possibly find have been cleaned and re-cleaned. Including the one next to the parking break, that one is very shiny.

I am getting no power to the 12v pin on the back of the fuel gauge. Coincidentally the parking brake light is fed by the same circuit so that doesn't work either. No voltage at the corresponding pin on the pigtail either. I lose the wire in the pigtail bundle but assuming it goes to the fuse...
Holy sh!t
I aint never heard my starter make a noise like that!

Thanks Mr. Dos equis. [emoji192]
If I tried to do that I'm pretty sure my apartment landlords would have a brick come out of thier dark holes.
They already give me death stares when they see me under the truck. What probably saves me is that I dont leave any stains.
I'll remount the starter...
Got a shop to do it, looks brand new. Even has the new smell. A few of the flex plate teeth look a little worn, but hopefully it works. Don't have the means living in a apt to drop the tranny to change that.
Make sure your sealant is resistant to oil. Or else the fuel will slowly dissolve it.
I used yellow teflon on mine. Its for natural gas fittings but 2 years since the mod and no issues yet.
Let me try to get my whole history in here before you guys tear me apart.
About 2 months ago my batteries started going bad, not able to hold a charge. Just out of warranty, go figure. Truck would struggle a little to start. I was also poor at the time, money was tight, couldn't make...
Yes I know thanks. Just copied the name of the thing from the sale post.
Driving it is what charges it.
It discharges itself just sitting there in the driveway needed to stop that

Installed a Pulsetech solar 24v battery charger/desulfator/pdu that i received from a fellow member.
Panel went on the roof. Control box temporarily mounted with zip ties in the center console until i can make some brackets. Circuit breaker box went between the batteries on the wheel well.

-Decided to get rid of the stock floor mats I’ve had for a long time. Lined the floors with aluminum roof flashing (2.5 rolls) with rattle can bed liner on top of that.
Lowes part # 154017 for anyone interested.
Turned out great. Feels pretty durable.
Used wifey’s old floor mats on top...
Took apart my dash and found a loose mechanical vent control push wire behind the heater control.
Does anyone have a picture of how this is supposed to look? I think I’m missing a part.
I’m finding only the electric connections in the TMs
In the second pic I am holding the push wire

Wowwww problem fixed. Finally
The turn signal switch in the steering column was the culprit. It was covered with little brass shavings that were probably shorting out lots of things.
New switch problem fixed.
As a side note I am missing the spring and retaining ring for the lock plate that...
Ok officially out of ideas again.
Disconnected rear lights via the plug shown earlier.
Signaling left I can hear the flasher clicking but pressing the brake makes it stop (same issue as before)
Signaling right works normally independent of brake.
So my problem is somewhere between steering...
