you do realize that the arms as shown were bolt ons already right? Maybe I looked at the photo wrong, but they certainly looked bolted on already.
Ok guys,
im really new here and have been pumped about a roof rack like most here. But am not ever going to pay 1,700 for a roof rack. I looked around locally and on the internet also and found several all steel racks that are quality for 500 bucks basket only. What if I had my father in law...
Maybe an alternative would be to fabricate just the antenna mounting arms, then you could utilize a multitude of existing quality and reasonable priced racks. I will hit my father in law up this weekend, he has a huge metal fab shop. They do quality work and I can assure you it wont be some...
just look up a local metal fabrication shop near you. Call them up and run it by, im sure they can fab up some arms similar to what has been posted. they could surely weld the antenna mount to an arm of some sort and then weld or bolt that to your existing rack, should be an easy day. Than...
TXM,
I have the same issue, just antenna holes in the rear. But I figure ill check it out when I get it, thinking maybe some sort of nutsert. When I put an X brace on my bmw i had to put a few in and they worked pretty darn good.
Stoney,
That looks real good, I like it. I think what im going to shoot for is the same kind rack, but a bit longer and extend it over the cab maybe. But I want to mount it up on an adapter using the antenna mounts. That way I could remove the cap and still have the rack. Mainly because I...
Dolphin shooter,
I really only need a good quality rack to start with as there pretty generic. But my father in law own a pretty big metal fabrication company here in southern ca, so I planned on making some mounts. I had actually though something like what you have pictured there. I cant...
SO I won a blazer and am awaiting its delivery, not patiently by the way. I have been filling my time with what I want to do to it. So far I have purchased the parts for the doghead starter relay mod. I plan on checking out all the electrical grounds and hoses and belts asap. The guy that...
just bought a solargizer for 40 bucks from ebay and am looking forward to mounting it up on my m1009.
where do most of you mount these on the roof or on the hood near the base of the windshield?
I dont know what kind of pick up you have but my dodge 2500 takes about 150.00 to fill up and has lots of power with the cummings. It wouls easily do 270 miles for about a tank of gas, even towing a blazer. I would drive it myself, honestly save a few bucks over the 350 quote

it does run, I have not personally seen it. But it was driven onto the lot, I decided instead to bid outside of MS camp shelby after i got out bid. The shipping fee was to much for me to get it to california. I however have a friend that can pick up for me in another state.
As for...
any advice on loading these out and the process that takes place? I just placed a bid on one of the cucvs out in Camp Shelby after looking for awhile. Im also trying to decide it its going to be cheaper for me to fly out and drive it back, or have it shipped to me. Any one have anything to...
