    CJ10a Flightline Tug --> 4wd Pickup Truck

    Yeah, I faced the same dilemma. But last year I got my set for 1200 out the door with labor. Good thing too because universals where almost gone and with the units hubs you sometimes will loose a wheel I hear. But, it was expensive but getting 2x4 millage is a big plus though it wont pay back...

    CJ10a Flightline Tug --> 4wd Pickup Truck

    gavan I think we think alike man. Yeah I've been obsessing over a 4bt swap in alot of different platforms. From what I've found the 4bt was the way to go with the cj engine compartment. I currently own a 3rd gen dodge and have thrown away the unit hubs for some from dynatrac. Very happy with...

    CJ10a Flightline Tug --> 4wd Pickup Truck

    Seems it really has worked out well. I had to describe this protect over the weekend and I said it basically reminded me of one of the land cruiser pickups in Aus. I think I would have started with a dodge 2500 and started swaping components. If you were to do it again and end up where you...

    CJ10a Flightline Tug --> 4wd Pickup Truck

    Oh I appreciate not monkeying with the front half of the frame. I figured you used the flat box to mount the trailer bed to. Good call on the Chevy springs. One questions isn't the frame close to the wide track jeep. Like the wagoneer? I'm just curious with the M1028 axles how is the tracking.

    Loud horns

    Yeah but PVC just does not have the "Timber" it sounds plasticy. LOL. The biggest limit is the amount of air flow into the horns. I've tried to up the pressure but have found you loose the diaphram. But by all means go nuts.

    CJ10a Flightline Tug --> 4wd Pickup Truck

    Well you did keep the ugly headlight fenders (military), kept the cj cab (military), and added the M101 bed. I think the military should build this truck along the lines you are maybe as a replacement for that Piece of equipment they are trying to use with the osprey. 8-) One questions why did...

    Loud horns

    Oh what fun is that, I mean its only right down the road from me anyways.:-? Actually have really got a nice design I like just got a little carried away and ruptured another diaphragm. I'm hoping to get 180db out of these things.

    CJ10a Flightline Tug --> 4wd Pickup Truck

    I know I'm resurrecting an old thread. But "I did search" and did not find much. Gavan, Are you around here at all? Curious how the rig turned out. Rebelpride, I assume you are back home? either way saw your tug up for sale and sorry to see you haven't got that dream done. I really...

    Roof-mounted Smoke Launchers?

    As far as weapons as long as it is not a 40mm you should be clear of DD laws and ATF for possession. Even the 37mm pyrotechnic variety is still touchy on vehicles are far as I can tell. If it was myself I would purchase some really strong magnets and build a base out of wood and PVC. Good...

    Loud horns

    Update took the pressure to 200 psig! Held and man what a racket. I was unsure of the cheep dust cap diaphragm but it held until I destroyed it with the hammer. I want to play around with different material for the diaphragm, seems I can improve the sound. Also you can reduce alot of the bulk...

    Best Gear shift knob

    I have a few 30 MM shells laying around would like to turn them into shifter knobs one day. But right now the only thing correct on the whole thing is the knobs so they are staying.

    Loud horns

    Well after work I decided to try. First we have the material I went with a twist and used for my first attempt the cheep plastic dust cap used for ground roughing. It is called a test cap and you can find it at most big box stores. had to sand off some lettering. Second sanded out the...

    Loud horns

    That was my thought. The bag reed is for a human powered version, but the concept is the same. I would have thought that HDPE (most food containers) would have been two supple. I want to up it a bit with shim material or sheet brass. I have a suspicion that the stiffer the read the faster...

    Loud horns

    I'm not sure but the individual who authored the attached diagrams article said that the closed rear air chamber muted the overall effect of the horn. I am really interested in getting some major performance out of a garage built hornfat lady sings This unit uses a shopping bag...lol...a friend...

    Loud horns

    I would love to see an in-depth build write up on this. Where is my popcorn. I think I may play around with this a bit have a feeling I can get the initial design alittle more efficient on labor time.

    Extended Cab 4 door.

    your rear window solutions reminded me of older train passenger windows. Used the same idea but had a brass barb and used a leather belt so you could have multiple positions for the height of your window. I've seen the circle and US tooled belts around, that would dress up the cab a bit...

    Deuce add ons

    I think Willy-May will be sporting two Jerry can mounts in the back. That tool box is amazing. I have a 40 mm can and small metal box that fits inside right now. This set up holds my straps and recovery rigging gear and hand tools. You can never have enough room for tools especially if larger...

    m101 truck bed

    Yeah a wile back I scored a trail kit/general tool box from Tractor Supply company that fits inside a 40 just perfect. It has been a very trusted trail companion all through college. 40s on one side and fuel and water on the other would be awesome.
