plym49, Yes it was recently rebuilt. I do not know much about the builder but currently it is a really strong runner. I must confess since it was already switched to 12V I am ditching the generator and updating to an alternator. I do plan on archiving the Gen unit though.
:lost: Why was this in the CUCV section? There should be a Naval section too! Cool story, always wondered what it would take to set up a freighter for when Castro/Raul kicks off down south.
No idea on the rubber. Engine is looking good though. Black and OD would have been my choice. Looking at the girdles I was wondering if they effect any windage and oil flow. I am guessing they are down in the oil hanging off the block like they are? Its the little things like replacing seals...
I am no expert on these vehicles. I would be curious if it was rebuilt as an M35A3 or new production. I am really jealous, looks like you have a really good truck.
Heat is your enemy in any tooling process with metal. Not sure I would go just water. Maybe look into the milling fluids available.
GB. Are you going to be using any sort of trailing arms to prevent the dreaded 1500 lb axle hop? I personally would not suspect the rear axle would wrap the...
If using russ132's method make sure your plasma cutter is rated for plunge cutting.
Also Gunner_bear are you building new perches for the springs? I was under the impression you used the frame to give you the lift needed to level the truck when using the trailer perches. Or did you pull it all...

Cool thought Unforgiven,
But the rack still has to transmit the load of the hydro to the tie rod. Unless I'm missing something the lightweight units would not work.
I was thinking that you may be able to have a drag link set up say a pitman arm with four holes. Two for drag links to...
After those comments and the keeping it between the poles I can't help but think of those big hands at college football games behind the goal post. Glad you didn't go wide right!!! Just Ironic that the school zone light was on too.
Well back to facts: does anyone know how many of these things were made? What did they power?

within this article is a brief history. The two types were pilot programs cut short by the Chernobyl.
The name of this is...
So I guess this is pretty well in the "confirmed" column. I know of the Nuclear batteries you are talking about. Most space craft for deep exploration carried a variety of them. Same principle as a solar pannel just instead of solar radiation you use plutonium or another "donor" substance and...
Adding a cylinder give what advantage. With mechanical linkages one cylinder does all the actuating and the linkages basically provide all links. More cylinders would mean more points of failure.

If you are talking about the tandem...
