Yeah once you find out about 'em you'll want one.. and hey what's not to want? You'll learn quickly there is a TM for every part on the truck.. Good luck.. The classifieds here are great!
Welcome, this site is awesome and full of great people. You need to be a member of this site if you have a Deuce! So much valuable info here. So where are the pics??
Welcome from 2 hours south!! Go get yourself a Deuce if you don't want to look like a tree hugger.. Plus they are Multifuels! So you'll even get better gas mileage since you can burn WMO
Thanks ODdave, that will make me sleep a little better. Seriously the only abuse I could think of since I owned here was when I had the brakes locking up on me on the recovery home.. perhaps that caused some excess strain and high heat?? Other than that she has been on pavement and pampered...
Welcome! Ahh one of my favorite places to vacation.. Stayed near Islemorada and attended the Bartender's Bash a few times not too long ago. Congrats on the truck! Where are the pics????
You'll really realize how great this site is when you run into a problem or two with your truck.. Not...
Thanks again guys, I was thinking the weight of the water in the tank when it was a firetruck as well. Heck this could have been the deuce that they told the newbies to practice on for all I know.
Anyway I am getting a new axle and plan on inspecting it well and doing a good fluid flush...

I will take off the bell housing to inspect the gears and make sure all is OK. Now the...
I'll have to search on the locker.. still a little wet behind the ears on this stuff and I don't want to tun this thread into a tutorial. I am all for preventative maintenance and upgrades and I am the kind of guy that will spend $500 up front to save double that down the road. If you could...

ODdave, sorry I am a little bit of a newb still, what's the Locker reference and how could that help? I never put unnecessary strain on the rear end. I would back down my driveway from time to time but didn't think that would ruin anything.. Are you referring to lockers on the hubs.? I don't...
Gimpy , thanks for the offer/parts.. not sure what's on the inside but I know I drained the differential and that's what came out.. For $350 or so I can get a whole new.. well new to me rear end with probably more parts than what I need but that's not too bad.. Seems like those teeth broke off...
At the bottom of your list but I just put in the muffler in my stack and it made a big difference in the cab. hats off to Sewerzurk for giving me the idea. I think his tread was called "all the stuff I did to my deuce right here" he has the part numbers and such.. some cool stuff he did..
