I pull a boat that weighs 22000 on a 5 axle trailer i made that weighs 5500 pounds. I only go about 20 miles and would not get on the interstate with it. I am 14 feet high and 13 feet wide. My biggest problem is getting it out of the water without breaking to many straps. It will get up to 55...
Most all heavy trucks with air brakes have a check valve that screws into the air tank at the feed line from the compressor unless it has an air dryer. You just need to see what size treads you have and should be able to get one at any heavy truck parts store. Napa. freightliner, truck pro...
When i refered about the air comming from the intake that was ment on how to check the air leak because i do not think it is your compressor. This has no conection to the trans problem. I do not know anything about allisons.
If your air compressor is leaking air after you shut it off take the big line off that goes to the tank after
you build up the air pressure. If keeps leaking out the line take the check valve apart
it should be at the tank were the line goes in. Air should only in not out of the tank through...
They came with 1400 or super singles. They all came with cummins and allison trans. The cummins could be a 8.3 or an ntc motor. If it has 6 lines out the top of the pump one for each injector it is a 8.3. If it has a pt pump it is an ntc motor. All had air brakes i think not sure about that.
Thanks for your input. I do understend how a glow plug works. I do change glow plugs in trucks almost every week. I do understand the glow plug controller also. I also understand
injection systems that is what i do. I build 60 series engines. Yes no book. I was not saying you or your books are...
Forget to say but i am sure it is in the tm. If you have more than a couple
glow plugs bad you need to check the controller because it may have not
shut off when it should have and that will burn out more glow plugs.
The only differnce is some people go by the book and some people do not. The out come will always be the same. The test light is the simple , easy and quick way. The tm is the other way. If you understand that a glow plug will heat up if it has a ground just like grounding a hot wire if it is...
I thought i was making it simple. Now i see i was not. The reason you need a 24 volt test light is a 12 volt
bulb last about 4 seconds. I was not trying to confuse anyone . I guess i have been doing
it wrong for the last 20 years. Live and learn. But if the test light does not light up the glow...
That should not have caused a problem. You should check the glow plugs and controller. To check the glow plugs take each wire off and connect a test light to the positive battrey terminal and when you touch the end of the glow plug the test light will light if the plug is good. Make sure your...
It could be getting air before the injection pump. Your govenor would not let air in the system. If you can hook up an other way for it to get fuel to the transfer pump. You can also put a gauge between the transfer pump and injection pump if possable to make sure it is getting fuel when it quits.
