I like the m1009. Better on fuel, better on the highway and better for moving people around. They are also cheaper which is a big plus for destitute college students.
I feel like we should say some words for our deceased friend. Alot of hours have been spent looking at those ads and then cursing them for making us spend all our money on old trucks.
I was looking at this truck for sale and it has me quite confused. It looks like it has the front end of a m35a2 but the back looks like a m818. I looked for a while to find anything similar, to no avail.

Before I got the pictures I thought the gas tank and wiring harness were original so now I am not sure if I should pull the trigger on this one or not.

Welcome to the site. It looks like you have a long project ahead of you, at least you have an assistant. When I was a kid, I worked as the assistant on my dads CJ7. Those were some good memories. Good luck with the rebuild.
